Workroom Wednesday!

Just in time for your Halloween decorating!
You can make these Pottery Barn Knockoffs for next to nothing.

Here is the tutorial for the fabulous Halloween Plates I made using the Decal paper that we sell at Kraft Outlet.

First I started with a white plate from Dollar Tree.
Make sure you remove the paper tag on the back and wash and dry the plate well.

Second, print the graphic you want on the decal paper using an inkjet or laser printer, I used these wonderful vintage illustrations from the Graphics Fairy.

Cut around the image with about 1/4" border.

Place your decal paper in a bowl of warm water for about 20 seconds.  Don't leave it in the water too long or the decal will separate from the backing paper and make it much harder to apply.

Gently slide the decal up on the backing paper about 1/4".  Now center your decal in the middle of your prepared plate.
Carefully slide the backing paper out from under the decal and adjust the placement.

With a dry paper towel, start in the center of your decal and smooth out any bubbles or water that is under your decal.  Work in all directions and feel for ripples or bubbles in the decal.

Let dry.

Voila! you have a beautiful decorative only plate.

This couldn't be easier. Enjoy!
