Make it Monday Challenge 3 with Kraft Outlet

Welcome to Make-It-Monday with the Kraft Outlet. The Challenge Theme for this week is "Anything Goes". Use this week's theme to inspire you to create a project and then link it up at the bottom of this post before 6:00 p.m. (Eastern Time) on Sunday January 30.  All participants in our challenges this month have a chance to be featured on our "Feature You Fridays" posts as well as be entered to win a $20.00 Kraft Outlet Store Voucher!  The more challenges you enter this month, the more chances you have to win!  Remember to follow our challenge guidelines to include either Kraft cardstock or products from Kraft Outlet on your project to be eligible for the prizes.

This week we are excited to introduce our very first Guest Designer, Carol Murphy.  Carol is a self-taught mixed media artist and instructor living in El Cajon, California and she's created a number of fabulous projects using supplies from the Kraft Outlet.  For this "Anything Goes" challenge Carol inspires us with a Christmas book "Reindeer Flight" and four Steampunk mini books.  Today we'll give you a peek of the mini books and tomorrow we will share a special post featuring all the pages from her Christmas book... so be sure to stop in again tomorrow for more of her designs!

Guest Designer Carol Murphy
Hi Kraft Paper art lovers!  My name is Carol Murphy and I’m a self taught mixed media artist and instructor living in El Cajon, California.  I love teaching Special Ed. kids for my “day job” but I also have a passion for putting together and teaching mixed media art on weekends and evenings.  I am fortunate enough to have had many feature articles and pieces published in several well known art publications.  My style is somewhat vintage, grungey, and “artsy” so the Kraft papers are perfect for me!  I’m sure now that I have found the Kraft Outlet I will be incorporating lots of their wonderful products into my works.  I especially love the pre cut chipboard and little books!  Feel free to visit my website to view more of my work and complete profile.

Mini Steampunk Books Designed by Carol Murphy
Carole said, "I absolutely love little books so was so excited to whip up some cute little steampunk books from The Kraft Outlet line of pre made books.  So easy and quick! I grunged up the books with distress powders and paints, and then added some steampunk vintage images and ephemera.  Great little books to write down notes or make quick sketches-Thank you Kraft Outlet!"

Please stop in again tomorrow for our special post featuring Carol's "Reindeer Flight" Christmas book!

This week our Design Team created a variety of beautiful designs for this "Anything Goes" goes challenge.  We hope you'll join us this week by creating your own project featuring Kraft paper or products from Kraft Outlet!

Design Team Challenge Reveal

Aphra Bolyer

For this week's Anything Goes challenge, Aphra created a 10 Things I Love card to celebrate ten reasons that she loves her husband. She started with Circa 1935, a vintage style paper collection from Cosmo Cricket. The Black Baker's Twine was the perfect accent for the background. Then, she attached a Manila Library Pocket to the front to hold five different Kraft Outlet Tags: a Scalloped Grungy Prim Tag, a Grungy Prim Tag, a Small Manila Shipping Tag, and two Small Kraft Shipping Tags. On the front and back of each tag, she added chipboard numbers and ten reasons that she loves her husband. To complete the inside of the card, she added patterned paper and another Manila Library Pocket which will hold a gift card. You can find photos of the tags and the inside of the card at Aphra's blog My Scrappy Life.

Audrey Pettit
With Valentine's Day soon approaching, Audrey took advantage of this "anything goes" week to create a romantic card using some of her favorite Kraft Outlet supplies. Lunch Bag Kraft and Buff Ivory cardstock pair with glittered and vintage inspired patterned papers for a fun shabby chic look. A Coin Sleeve Envelope holds a tucked love note, and Natural Twill Tying Tape, Brown Baker's Twine, and vintage lace add the finishing touch.
For more photos and details, please visit Audrey's blog.

Tracy MacDonald
Tracy has created a personal journal for this week's "anything goes" challenge.  She started with a Kraft Outlet #151 Natural Smooth Journal and added layers of designer paper and more Kraft Outlet products.  The layering, flowers and page dividers use #81 Brown Kraft Cover Weight Cardstock, #202 Lunch Bag Kraft Cardstock , #163 Lunch Bag Kraft Text Paper.  The #926 Round Metal Edge Grungy Prim Tags was stamped and tucked into the flower spray.  The tear in the designer paper on the bottom panel was laced with #958 Twill Tape .  You can find a photo of the page dividers on her blog plus further details about the construction of the journal cover and dividers.

Remember you have until Sunday January 30 to enter your project and be eligible for our random $20.00 store voucher drawing.  The more challenges you enter this month, the more chances you have to win! Don't forget to stop back in tomorrow for a look at Carol's Christmas Book, Wednesday we have a fantastic tutorial from Designer Kristina Harmon and Friday we'll feature one of your projects too.  Until then, be "Krafty".
