We'll make this announcement every Monday during May and randomly select a winner from everyone who posted our new button on their blog!  (We'll announce the winner along with our May $15.00 gift certificate winner).

I've got more exciting news to share with you today too!

First Frances Sylvia officially joins the Kraft Outlet Creative Team today, please join us in welcoming her to the team...AND, in keeping with our month-long celebration of our new blog look and for the next four weeks, we've got a special Guest Designer in the house! I had the pleasure of meeting Pinky at the beginning of the year as we work together on the 2011 Imaginisce Design Team and I'm thrilled to have her here with us at The Kraft Journal to share her special blend of cutting edge design and style! Here's a bit about her...

Guest Designer: Pinky ('Cristal Hobbs)

Hi it's just me PINKY, your average ordinary chicken-raising pink haired mom! Nothing unusual here. ha! I have 3 amazing sweet boys, 1 husband, 18 chickens and one dog. I have been crafting for just over 3 years now and I fell in love with it! I am EXCITED about crafting and always will be. I work for a few companies such as Provocraft, Clear Scraps, Imaginisce as a designer, I am very blessed. The best part about crafting for me has always been that it comes from the heart. I meet many crafters from all over and one thing holds true, it begins with the heart and hands and no matter what you make it truly is the "thought" that counts. That is amazing and wonderful and all crafting is ART! I am excited to be a guest Designer for Kraft Outlet this month, what fun and artsy products, I could probably scrap for a year with KRAFT products and not get tired of it. I hope to see your heartfelt work this month too!

You can learn more about Pinky and see all of her amazing designs at her blog right here.

Design Team Reveal

Our Guest Designer: Pinky
This is a sweet handmade gift that any mom can use, tags for any occasion. It's always nice to have pre-made tags on hand. First Pinky used the #964 Large Kraft Shipping Tags and decorated them for different occasions. Then she took the #202 Lunch Bag Kraft Cardstock in 8.5X11, cutting it down to pocket size and stitched it together for the pocket. No glue necessary. Cute, handmade practical, and easy! What more could you ask for?

Audrey Pettit
For this week's Mother's Day challenge, Audrey created a frilly and feminine card for Mom using lots of pretty patterned papers and her favorite cardstock and trims from The Kraft Outlet. Buff Ivory Cover Weight Cardstock forms the base of the card, which is layered with floral and check papers and several die-cut shapes to add texture and depth. Hand-cut flowers and a double bow of Victoria Seam Binding and Earthy Hemp Cord make a sweet nest for the bird. Pearls, buttons, a bit of machine stitching, and a sentiment strip printed on Buff Ivory Cover Weight Cardstock finish things off. For more photos and details, please visit Audrey's blog.

Kristina Harmon
Kristina chose to make a non-traditional Mother's Day card for this week's challenge. She started with a Kraft Blank Note Card and matching envelope for the base. It is decorated with stripes made from Decorative Paper Tape and a layered flower made from the same paper tape. (You can see her tutorial on how that flower was made). Butterflies were stamped and then punched out of Lunch Bag Kraft Text Paper and the body was wrapped in Brown Kraft Baker's Twine. You can read more about her creation on her blog, Kristina's World.

Frances Sylvia
We're excited to show you our new team member, Frances Sylvia's first official project for The Kraft Journal! Frances' Mother's Day gift bag was created using a Kraft Coffee Bag. To create the peek-a-boo hole, she just cut a hole with a circle cutter and added a transparency. She then decorated her bag with homemade flowers using Imaginisce's Enchanted Collection. To top it off, she used a Small Kraft Shipping Tag. For close ups and more detail pics, you can visit Frances' blog Forever and Year.
