Saturday Special: Jody Johnson of Sweet Bear Creek Whims

The Prim Nest is a website that features a gathering of Primitive, Folk Art, and Vintage Artists helping you to feather your nest. There you'll find a vast collection of art and vintage pieces for sale by a variety of vendors and artists. Today I'm featuring this adorable Clay Sculpted Teddy Bear Votive Candle Holder Jody Johnson of Sweet Bear Creek Whims.

Crafted by Jody Johnson of Sweet Bear Creek Whims
This Country Bear stands 7 ½” tall to the top of his glass votive holder. He was sculpted over a ball canning jar with air-dry clay, painted with a color meshing technique and a clear protective finish applied. For the base an antique jello mold was used and a mix of cinnamon and mod podge was applied over it for a prim look. The recipe for this and the cinnamon shapes like the star on his hat are on my blog! His hat is a knit and his collar is a plaid cotton. His votive holder and the candle are included and are removable. Although he is a votive holder, a tea light would also work! If you don’t want to burn a candle, you could fill the glass holder with anything you can think of, for instance some potpourri or some dried flowers. He is signed, dated and numbered 1/1 on the back. This is such a fun way to burn a candle! To learn more about this and other designs by Jody Johnson follow this link.
