Kraft Outlet Guest Designer Shellye McDaniel

My name is Shellye McDaniel from NE Texas.  I've been married for 20 years and recently celebrated my 40th birthday!  I have three really great kids: Tyler (17), Zachry (13) and Sydnee (9).  I work part-time as a Labor & Delivery nurse.   I've been pretty 'crafty' most of my life and started scrapbooking about 14 years ago.  I enjoy creating custom projects for my Etsy shop, as well as cards and scrapbook pages for my family. My other hobbies include: knitting, baking, reading and perusing crafty blogs.  I am currently on the Your Scrapbook Stash Design Team and the Paper Issues and I Heart Ippity (Unity Stamps) Creative Teams!  My blog is The Papered Cottage.
You'll see all of Shellye's projects this month on the Thursday Trigger segment of our blog, so be sure to stop back in on Thursday March 29 for more "Western Flair" challenge inspiration.

Kraft Outlet DT Reveal for "Western Flair" Challenge
Tracy MacDonald
Tracy's cowgirl card was created with a base of Light Kraft Cover Weight cardstock.  She then added two mats of designer papers, the last being edged with Earthy Hemp Cord.  A third DP layer was stitched and carries the sentiment and two tabs of Natural Twill Tape.  The fish tail panel, also cut from Light Kraft, was embossed with a leather texture plate and inked with Distress ink.  The star was created with two layers of Chipboard and covered with gold embossing powder.  The card base, sentiment, and leather panel were all inked with Vintage Photo Distress ink.  The image was framed with another digital stamp and more Earthy Hemp cord was wrapped around each corner.

Jennifer Cuthbertson
Jennifer started with a base of medium kraft cardstock and used some Western-themed papers and a journaling card, seam binding, baker's twine, two little tickets, and a cute cowboy hat charm to finish the card. Head over to her blog for a complete supply list.
Debbie Carriere
Debbie Carriere chose a sweet cowgirl image to work with for this week's Western Flair challenge.  She used Brown Kraft Cover Weight cardstock as the background for her card, stamping the sentiment on a Light Kraft Cover Weight cardstock ticket tab.  Debbie colored and paper pieced the image and stitched around the panel.  She adhered some western themed die cuts to a metal rimmed circle tag from the Designers Special Natural Tag Assortment.  Debbie tied this tag embellishment to the twill bow using Red Baker's Twine and a wooden button.  For more details, be sure to stop by her blog!

  1. A photograph of each visitor can be organized in a collage format together with customized messages, which the baby once older would value.
