Kraft Outlet DT Reveal for "Favorite Designer" Challenge
For Kristi's card this week, she is CASEing the sometimes whimsical, sometimes vintage, but always shabby chic style of one of her favorite designers, Cherry Nelson. Kristi admires Cherry's way of using color and just the right embellishments to convey her unique style.
Kristi started her card with a base made from Buff Ivory Cover Weight card stock and layered her vintage inspired papers on top. She die cut a piece of Vintage Dictionary Paper into a label shape and adhered it to the middle. After adding a die cut doily, she then added a stamped label featuring a vintage image of two little girls. She used a white resin frame to frame out one of the girls. After wrapping pink seam binding around the card, Kristi used blue and pink Pastel Hemp Cording to thread the blue button and accent the middle of the bow.
For today's 'CASE Your Favorite Designer' challenge, Debbie was inspired by her muse, Melissa Phillips! Debbie began with a base of Brown Kraft Cardstock onto which she layered a couple of pieces of different patterned papers. Debbie wrapped a length of Natural Fringe around the base of the card, tied a bow with a piece of Green Hemp Cording and then added a stamped X-Small Grungy Prim Tag and Tiny Colored Wooden Clothespin.
Debbie was inspired by the mixy-matchy stamped sentiments and sweet pumpkin on Melissa's card, so she stamped several sentiments and accessory images on her card ... and then added tiny punched hearts that she punched from a snipett of X-Small Grungy Prim Tag. Please visit Debbie's blog to view additional pictures of today's card!
For this week's challenge...."Copy Your Favorite Designer", our DT Member, Karen Letchworth, knew right away that she wanted to recreate a card from a crafter she's been watching ever since she entered the card-making and scrapbooking world; and this is the lovely and talented Melissa Phillips of Lily Bean Paperie. More specifically, Karen was inspired by this card Melissa created... "A Latte Love".
Karen's card all started with a Lunchbag Kraft Note Card that she covered with some patterned paper and then added a strip of Pink & White Stripe Washi Tape. Next, she took a Small Glassine Bag and filled it with colorful sequins to match her patterned papers. She ran another length of the Pink & White Stripe Washi Tape up the side of the Glassine Bag that was covered with a little hand-cut index card made from a scrap piece of Lunchbag Kraft Cardstock. Lots of other goodies here from The Kraft Outlet including a Grungy Prim Tag and some Pastel Hemp Cord. You can read a complete supply list and say a quick hello over at Karen's Blog - "My Cup Runneth Over".
For this week's Copy Your Favorite Designer challenge, Jessica was inspired by one of her favorite designers~ Lesley Croghan from Always Playing with Paper. She used this card HERE as her inspiration when making her Back to School card, following Lesley's card LO as the basis to her project. Jessica started her card by using a piece of Light Kraft Cover Weight Cardstock as her card base and then adding a mat of Flute Corrugated Kraft Paper. Next she layered some Blackboard Stock Paper and an image that she colored in the Silhouette Studio. Before adding her image to the card, she used her punch to add a notebook border, her Ink Blending Tool to add some white ink as well as her sewing machine to add the stitch marks (without the thread as you can see).
Then to finish her card off, Jessica die cut an oval piece of Blackboard Stock Paper as well as a smaller white piece of cardstock so she could stamp her sentiment from Jaded Blossom's~ School Rules stamp set. Again she added more white inking around the image using my Ink Blending Tool.
