Kraft Outlet DT Reveal for "Color" Challenge

Anitra Tovar

This week's color challenge has inspired Anitra to create a fun Easter card.  Using one of her favorite items from The Kraft Journal, she started out with a "Lunch Bag Kraft Note Card".  Next she matted some patterned paper onto the note card.  She then added a piece of "Vintage Dictionary Page", which she cut using a decorative edge punch.  To bring out the detail of the edge she matted it with some "Blackboard Stock Paper".  Using some "Hand Stained Bias Tape in Mint Green" she added a bow along the text paper.  The "Pink Baker's Twine" bow she added  really brings out the shades of pink in the digital image.  Another piece of "Blackboard Stock Paper" was matted behind the image to frame it up.  For a little added detail she adhered a piece of "Music Washi Tape" that she punched with a decorative edge and tucked it under the image.  To finish her card Anitra adhered a charming butterfly from the "Salvage Stickers-Crowded Attic" set, and for a little sparkle she added some bling to it's wings and a flourish.  For more information on her card please stop by her blog Stamping While They Sleep.

Tammy Hobbs
For this week's "color challenge", Tammy was inspired by the spring like colors and decided to create an Easter Card. She started with a Brown Kraft Cover Weight cardstock base onto which she added a panel of distressed patterned green and white polka-dot paper. She had a piece of stripe paper in her stash that consisted of the colors in the inspiration photo this week. Before she added it to the card front, she distressed the edges. Next she added a length of Natural Burlap Ribbon to the front embellished with a button and a bow from Pink Baker's Twine.  Tammy created a tag using Buff Ivory Cardstock and stamped a sentiment in a ray pattern using multiple inks adding a die-cut easter egg adorned with pink hearts. She added Pink Baker's Twine to the top before anchoring it down with foam adhesive.  She felt this card needed some pretty ribbon treatment and took a length of Cameo Beige Bias Tape and created a fluffy bow embellished with a pink button and more Pink Baker's Twine.  Finishing touches include adding a small pennant made from Buff Ivory Cardstock and pink heart to the upper right corner. For additional pictures and a complete supply list, please visit Tammy at Creating Somewhere Under The Sun.

Debbie Marcinkiewicz
For this week's 'Color Challenge' Debbie created a spring theme card full of dots - inspired by the colors and bubbles from the inspiration photo!  Debbie began with a base of Buff Ivory Cardstock onto which she layered a piece of Kraft & Black Patterned Paper.  Next Debbie created an Easter egg shape made using five layers of Washi Tape that correspond with the colors from the photo ... LOVE!  Debbie wound a piece of Bright Green Hemp Cording around the middle of the egg and then tied a Round Metal Edge Grungy Prim Tag onto the Hemp Cording which was stamped with a sentiment and then she added some pretty iridescent Tuti-Fruti Sequins!  To finish her card, Deb stamped a sentiment banner image onto Buff Ivory Cardstock using the Wagon Add-on: bloom & grow stamp set, cut it out and adhered it to the base of the card.  Please visit Debbie's blog for additional photos and a complete materials list for today's project!

Kristi Schurr
For this week's color challenge, Kristi made an adorable little journal with a butterfly theme. She began with a Small  Natural Smooth Kraft Journal and layered a piece of butterfly patterned paper on top. Using Chit Chat Word Stickers, she added "my journal" to the bottom right of the journal. Kristi then hot glued some ruffled cotton trim to the left side of the front cover, then tied some Natural Hemp Cord around the front cover and tied it in a bow.Kristi finished off the journal cover by using some blue cording from the Pastel Hemp Cord pack to attach a metal charm to the hemp cord bow. Color challenges are always a lot of fun because they allow everyone to interpret the inspiration in their own way.  Karen enjoyed working with these fabulous colors, and chose to use polka dots to represent the bubbles in the inspiration photo.  Her card began with a Large Lunch Bag Kraft Notecard, and to that, she attached some patterned papers to coordinate with the challenge colors.  She machine stitched the edges, and inked everything.  Next, she took a Mini Kraft Merchandise Bag and covered the bottom of that in patterned paper as well.  She decorated it with a few Kraft Outlet goodies including a Tim Holtz Journaling Ticket, two Tim Holtz Adage Tickets, and into the little pocket she tucked a hand-made tag that was created using a combination of a Small Grungy Prim Tag and Lunch Bag Cardstock.  It's tied with a length of Brown Baker's Twine.  Next, she added a couple of sequins and mini pearl stickers, and then created a seam binding bow that also includes Brown Baker's Twine, a button, and Rose Petal Cupcake Hand-Stained Bias Tape.  You are welcome to stop by Karen's blog, My Cup Runneth Over, to read more about her card and see a detailed supply list.  She really looks forward to seeing your creations this week!
