Challenge 168 - Rain

Hi all you Krafty Crafters and welcome to Make It Monday at The Kraft Journal! We hope you all had a wonderful Holiday and are ready for some inspiration.
This weeks challenge is - RAIN
Anitra Tovar

For this rain challenge Anitra has created a carding using a Brown Kraft Cover Weight Cardstock, as her base.  Next she added some patterned paper.  Once her image was stamped and colored she matted it onto some more of the Brown Kraft Cover Weight Cardstock.  She then added a file tab from the Hodge Podge Magpie Sticker sheet.  You know how much Anitra loves her seam binding so she added some of the Hand stained  Mint Green Tea seam binding and tied a simple bow.  Next she die cut some of the Brown Kraft Cover Weight Cardstock and added it to the bottom of the image.  She created the "HELLO" sentiment using the alphabets on the Hodge Podge Magpie Sticker Sheet.  For more information on her project please visit her blog Stamping While They Sleep

Kristi's rain themed card features a cute  girl die cut holding an umbrella. She started with a card base made from Light  Kraft Cover Weight Card Stock cut at 4.25 by 5.5 inches. After layering a piece of polka dot patterned paper, she added a die cut border underneath a rain drop themed patterned paper and adhered it to the front left side of the card ,aligning the edges with the polka dot paper. She stamped the sentiment onto a die cut and affixed it to the center top of the card front. After printing and die cutting  the umbrella girl, Kristi then adhered her to the left side of the sentiment die cut. She embellished her card with a bow made from Aqua Mist Hand Stained Bias Tape and finished off the bow with a sun shaped sequin and pink brad. Not that she's a big fan of rainy weather, but Karen had a lot of fun with this week's "Rain" Challenge. She created a little photo and card holder using a Large Kraft Polka Dot Merchandise Bag that she decorated using some FUN Kraft Outlet embellishments.  First, she ran a length of Twill Ruler Ribbon across the bag, and then she took a Small Glassine Bag and created a tag holder.
Inside the Small Glassine Bag, you can see a Grungy Prim Shipping Tag peeking through with a bow made from Yellow Baker's Twine.  To create the photo mat (tucked inside the Large Kraft Polka Dot Merchandise Bag), Karen used a large piece of Buff Ivory Cardstock and made a pull tab at the top using another length of Yellow Baker's Twine and Twill Ruler Ribbon.  For further details about this project, more photos, and a complete supply list, you're invited to stop by Karen's Blog, My Cup Runneth Over.  Karen hopes you will dodge the raindrops, grab some new goodies from the Kraft Outlet, and stop by to play along in this week's "Rain Challenge" at The Kraft Journal.

Tammy Hobbs
For this week's Rain challenge, Tammy had the perfect combination of items to create a "rain"card.  She started with a base of Brown Kraft Cover Weight Cardstock.  She layered Buff Ivory and a piece of patterned paper to the card base adding a scallop edge to the Buff Ivory layer. Tammy took a length of Strawberry Shortcake Bias Tape and wrapped it around the front of the card and tied in a bow adding a flower and button. Please head over to Tammy's blog, Creating Somewhere Under The Sun for additional pictures and supplies used on her card today.

So now its your turn to share your RAIN inspired cards with us.
As always, participants in our weekly challenges have a chance to be selected as our Featured Artist and showcased on one of our "Feature Me Fridays" posts. Each month Kraft Outlet will randomly give away a $15.00 Store Voucher at!
