Challenge #169 - Pinterest Inspired

Good Morning All and welcome to the Kraft Journal.  Today we are using Pintrest as our inspiration!  That place is a treasure trove of eye candy!  Take a look at the wonderful things our design team has come up with.
Kristi Schurr
Kristi's Inspiration
Kristi's vintage style baby girl card was inspired by this sweet purse that she pinned to her Card Inspiration board on Pinterest. Her card began with a base made from Light Kraft Cover Weight Card Stock, trimmed to 4.25 by 5.5 inches. She then layered a ledger patterned paper to the top half of the card front. She die cut 2 patterned papers with scalloped border dies and layered them on the bottom half. She wrapped some Mint Green Tea Hand Stained Bias Tape around the middle along with a piece of twine from the Metallic Twist Hemp Twine Pack and tied it in a knot on the right side of the card front. She fashioned a flower from Recycled Kraft Tissue using a spiral flower die and glued it to the right hand side of the card, over the knotted ribbon and twine. She made a bow from Mint Green Tea Hand Stained Bias Tape and tucked it in behind the flower, adhering with a bit of hot glue. She embellished the center of the flower with a Girl's Silhouette Icon Flatback flair button. Kristi then stamped a sentiment on a Scalloped Grungy Prim Tag and tied it to the ribbon, close to the flower. Some green pearls finished her card as shown above. Karen Letchworth
For this week's "Pinterest Inspired" Challenge, Karen was driven by this Pinterest image (below) combining several layers of papers including some vintage dictionary pages.  It really inspired her to get creative with layering several of her favorite Kraft Outlet products in the same manner.  Her project started with a Medium Kraft Paper Sack that she plans to use as a gift bag for some hot spiced cider mix.

Karen's Pinterest Inspired Photo
To the Kraft Paper Sack, Karen began layering her papers/products.  She also implemented a Vintage Dictionary Page, a White Library Card, half a doily, a Tim Holtz Journaling Ticket, and a couple small strips of patterned paper.  She added a die-cut word (you) and a sentiment sticker (one of a kind) to a Small Grungy Prim Shipping Tag, which also has a Round Metal-Edged Grungy Prim Tag hanging from it with some string and lovely Yellow Baker's Twine.  At the right top, you can see a Tiny Wooden Clothespin and a touch of machine straight-stitching here and there.  You can see several additional photos of this project on Karen's Blog, My Cup Runneth Over.  She also looks forward to having you play along in this week's challenge with us.  Pinterest is filled with oodles of inspiration, and the Kraft Outlet makes it affordably possible to achieve creating all your inspired projects.

Anitra Tovar
Anitra often finds inspiration from textiles and lace.  For this week's "Pintrest inspired" theme she chose this image she found on Pintrest.

For her card she started with a Lunch Bag Kraft Cover Weight cardstock as her base.  Next she matted some Buff Ivory Cover Weight cardstock that she ran through a flourish embossing folder.  Because the Buff Ivory cardstock has a linen weave texture to it, it really worked well to capture the textile feel to her card.  Anitra added some patterned paper which she used a lace edge punch to create a decorative edge.  To add layers as in the inspiration photo she adhered some sheer ribbon trim on top of the lacy edge patterned paper.  Using the Precut Chipboard in the small size she created her own embellishment frame by die cutting two nesting dies.  She then covered the frame in coordinating patterned paper.  She stamped her sentiment onto some of the Buff Ivory cardstock in a sky blue ink.  To further embellish her card she added a rolled rose which she created using some of the Lunch Bag Kraft Cover Weight cardstock, along with some aqua flowers.  To finish her card she added one of her favorite embellishments from the Kraft Outlet,  Hand Stained Bias Tape in Aqua Mist.  She tied a multi-looped bow and added a button to the center.  For more information on Anitra's project please visit her blog, Stamping While They Sleep.

Tammy Hobbs

For today's "Pinterest Inspired" Challenge, Tammy was inspired by a poster of encouraging words seen below.
She started by stamping feathers in pastel colors onto a white cardstock panel with distressed edges. At the bottom, Tammy stamped the forward moving arrows in aqua ink. She die-cut a piece of Vintage Dictionary Paper into a row of scallops randomly stamping a paint splatter in pink ink. Just above the scallop trim, Tammy added a row of pink felt stars next wrapping Pink Baker's Twine around the card several times.  She then stamped an inspirational sentiment on a white tag that was die-cut. Tammy anchored the tag with Hand Stained Lilac Lace Bias Tape dressed up with a Custom Fastener and snippets of Vintage Dictionary Paper.  After she completed her focal panel, she then added it to her card base with foam adhesive. For additional pictures and a complete supply list, please visit Tammy at Creating Somewhere Under The Sun.
