Challenge #170 - Just For Her

Good Monday morning everyone, thanks for stopping by.

This weeks Challenge is Just For Her.

With Mother's Day at the end of the week we thought something for the ladies was appropriate. If you want to join the challenge please note that this DOES NOT have to be a Mother's Day card, any project for a woman can be included.

Karen Letchworth
For this week's "Just For Her" Challenge, DT Member Karen made a Mother's Day for her dear Mom.  She started her project with a favorite Kraft Outlet product - a Kraft Open End Catalog Envelope.  Karen made this Open End Catalog Envelope into a Mother's Day card by simply folding it in half and covering it with patterned papers.  The reason Karen LOVES using these amazing envelopes as cards is because you can open the flap and tuck photos or hand-written notes and keepsakes inside; yet it's a perfect card that fits into our Kraft Lunch Bag Envelopes for mailing.  Karen used patterned papers, machine stitching, stickers and several darling Kraft Outlet goodies to decorate the card to make it super special for her Mother.  Some special touches include Oatmeal Cream Stained Seam BindingRose Petal Cupcake Seam BindingAqua Mist Seam BindingStrawberry Shortcake Seam Binding, and Pink Pastel Hemp Cord in the center of her button.

The inside is all decorated as well, and Karen used a sweet little Mini Kraft Polka Dot Merchandise Bag where she tucked in a gift card for her Mom.  The Kraft Outlet sells LOTS of great little bags for tucking in gift cards - which makes gift-giving so easy to implement into your crafting.  Karen has additional pictures on her blog, My Cup Runneth Over where she invites you to visit.  She also looks forward to seeing your "Just For Her" cards and projects shared in this week's challenge.

Tammy Hobbs
For this week's "All About Her" challenge, Tammy knew it would be a great time to create a Mother's Day card. She started with a card base of Buff Ivory Cardstock onto which she layered Brown Kraft Cover Weight Cardstock to a piece of patterned paper.  For some visual interest, Tammy stamped various florals and butterflies onto the kraft piece. She rounded the right corners of the card for another fun touch.  Next, Tammy took a length of Aqua Mist Hand Stained Bias Tape and wrapped it around the card front and tied in a bow embellished with Yellow Baker's Twine and a button.  Her Happy Mother's Day sentiment was stamped on a banner cut from Buff Ivory Cardstock.  Lastly, she created a focal point that was stamped on Buff Ivory Cardstock and layerd on a coordinated mated cut of aqua patterned paper. For additional pictures and a complete supply list, please visit Tammy at Creating Somewhere Under The Sun.

Anitra has also created a sweet Mother's Day card for this week's "Just For Her" challenge.  For her card she started with a Brown kraft cover weight cardstock as her base.  She then used some of the Buff ivory cover wight cardstock to stamp a two step rose.  The texture on the ivory cardstock is beautiful when doing this technique!  The linen finish really brings out the texture in the stamped image.  The stamped piece was then matted onto a coordinating colored cardstock and popped up using foam tape.  Anitra didn't stop there she finished the inside of her card by matting the Buff ivory cardstock and adhering a Small Glassine Bag, which she stamped on using the same stamp set.  This makes a perfect place to add a gift card.  To bring out the stamped images on the glassine bag she added some light pink patterned paper.  For more information on Anitra's card please stop by her blog, Stamping While They Sleep.

All of our designers have out done themselves and now it is your turn to show off!
