Challenge #175 - Just For Him

Good Morning and thanks for stopping by the Kraft Journal. We are glad you have joined us for another fun challenge - Just For Him.

With Father's Day quickly approaching we are thinking about all the men in our lives; fathers, husbands, uncles, sons, grandsons, teachers, friends and coaches. We all have someone special that deserves a card with that masculine touch.

Our design team is full of ideas so take a look!

Tammy Hobbs

For this week's "Just For Him" challenge Tammy decided to make a card for a baseball coach. She started with a base of Brown Kraft Cover Weight Cardstock and matted a variety of papers to the kraft base. She added some Red Baker's Twine where the pieces met for some visual interest and added texture.  Using her electronic cutting machine, she cut two baseball bats from Brown Kraft Cover Weight Cardstock and crossed them in the center of the card. She created a ribbon from stamps and dies and added that to the center. Lastly she die-cut the word Coach from Brown Kraft Cover Weight Cardstock and added to the bottom of the card.  For additional pictures and a complete supply list, please visit Tammy at Creating Somewhere Under The Sun.

Kristi Schurr
Kristi made a vintage style Father's Day card this week. She made a card base from Brown Kraft Cover Weight Card Stock, cut at 5x7 inches. She distressed and inked the edges. She then layered a piece of Vintage Dictionary Pages and aged it with brown ink as well. She stamped a frame slightly offset from the center of her card front. She adhered a gentleman sticker from Salvage Stickers French Industrial pack alongside the stamped frame. She fashioned the word 'dad' from more Salvage Stickers Crowded Attic pack and placed them in a metal bookplate frame and then attached it to the card front. She then attached the rest of the sentiment onto a Scalloped Grungy Prim Tag and adhered it to the card front also. She  embellished her card with a metal gear, die cut kraft banner, and some pleated Natural Burlap ribbon. For more information, please visit Kristi at her blog, Kristi's Paper Creations.

Anitra Tovar
The "Just for Him" challenge has Anitra thinking about Father's day.  For her project she has created this masculine card.  First she started out with some Buff Ivory cardstock as her base.  Next she matted various patterned papers in a neutral tone.  For her masculine embellishments she added some chipboard pieces.  She covered the star in some Vintage dictionary pages, and distressed the edges. She also adhered some gears to the front of her card.  She then stamped her sentiment on some more of the Buff Ivory cardstock which she cut into a banner and distressed using a Vintage Photo marker and ink.  She adhered her sentiment onto a piece of frayed burlap.  To finish her card she used some Natural Hemp cord, a great embellishment to have on hand when creating cards in neutral tones.  For more details on Anitra's project please visit her blog Stamping While They Sleep.

Now it's your turn to strut your stuff, we would love to see your Just For Him designs!
