Make It Monday Challenge #204 - Happy New Year!

Another year is almost at an end and there is one last celebration of 2014.  A festive card is a great way to connect with family and friends.  Take a look at what the Kraft Journal Designers have come up with using this weeks Challenge #204 - Happy New Year!

Tammy Hobbs

For this week's Happy New Year challenge, Tammy, started this card by piecing together her patterned papers and adding them to her base of Blackboard Stock Paper.  She die-cut a stitched label and placed it to center of the card.  The word Celebrate was also die-cut using Blackboard Stock Paper and placed in the middle of the label.  Next, she took a toothpick and created a flag from Black and White Polka Dot Washi Tape wrapping it with Metallic Hemp Cord.  To the right of the flag she created, she added a Black Wooden Clothespin to hold the Metallic Hemp cord. She then stamped her Happy New Year sentiment on a stitched label and placed in the lower left of the card front. Lastly, Tammy just added a few embellishing touches to include a glitter star made from chipboard and a few silver sequins scattered about.  For additional pictures and a complete supply list, please visit Tammy's blog: Creating Somewhere Under The Sun.

Marsha Drain
Marsha has been looking for ways to use these great metal rimmed grungy circle tags and what a fun idea to use them to ring in the New Year.  She likes the metal sparkle and they are so easy to use with the pre-punched hole.  Using a Light Kraft Cardstock base for the card eliminated the need to match any colors of the designer paper. For more details, she invites you to visit her blog: Grammas Room and also wishes you a Happy New Year.

Use this week's theme to inspire you to create your project and then link it up at the bottom of this post before 6:00pm (Central Time) on Sunday. Please limit your entries two per challenge.

  2. Like the festive New Year's cards. Especially like the creative use of the circle thingies, which I'[m not recalling what they are called. Happy New Year 2015 to everyone!
