Make It Monday - CAS One Layer Cards

Hi Kraft Journal friends and welcome to our CAS - One Layer Card Challenge #212.

Sometimes the simplest things can be the most challenging and this week we will see that each person has their own take on CAS.  So put your thinking cap on and lets see what you can come up with!

Tammy Hobbs
Tammy began her one layer card with a card base of Brown Kraft Cover Weight cardstock.  She then stamped and paper-pieced her car in the center of the card front. She added the birthday greeting just below in black ink. Lastly, she took a length of Sunny Yellow Hemp Cord from the Pastel Hemp Cord collection and wrapped it around the top of the card and tied it in a double bow.  For additional pictures and details, please visit Tammy's blog at: Creating Somewhere Under The Sun

Marsha Drain
Marsha likes CAS cards but a singe layer card is a real challenge for her.  She decided to do something she has never done before - stamp, emboss, and color onto Kraft.  After stamping and embossing with white onto the Light Kraft Cardstock, she used a few Copic colors to fill it some of the image.  Then because it still looked too plain, she used some of the beautiful Vintage White Hand Stained Bias Ribbon for a bow.  More details can be found on her blog Grammas Room.

Design Team Member, Karen Letchworth will be the first to admit that she struggles with CAS cards; and trying to keep it one layer was a real challenge for her.  She used a Small Lunch Bag Kraft Note Card for her base.  To that, she added just one layer of patterned paper.  She ran several lengths and a bow of Pink Vintage Baker's Twine around her card, and then a couple of coordinating colored paper straws for a "festive" Birthday look.  Karen added a rub-on sentiment, using her Bone Folder to apply it, onto a small scrap of Lunch Bag Kraft Cover Weight Card Stock which she inked.  The finishing touch was adding a few coordinating sequins to her card.  For Karen, this is VERY CAS...... and it technically has only one layer.
For further pictures of Karen's project, and to read the complete supply list; please feel free to stop by Karen's Blog, My Cup Runneth Over to say hello and take a peek.  Karen really hopes that you will play along in this week's CAS/One Layer Challenge.  Have fun creating!
