So to kick off this wonderful summer holiday we are starting with a CAS Patriotic Challenge #229.
As we celebrate Patriotism with our "Let Freedom Ring" Challenge this week, Design Team Member Karen Letchworth wanted to create a card to celebrate the greatest country in the world....The United States of America. She started with a Small Lunch Bag Kraft Note Card to which she added some red, white and blue cardstocks. She die-cut the letters (USA) and attached some buttons with Red Baker's Twine. Karen would LOVE to have you play along in this week's challenge, and invites you to visit her blog, My Cup Runneth Over.
When Marsha thinks CAS, she thinks one layer, so excluding the Brown Kraft card base, her card is one layer with the illusion of more. The liberty bell image and the sentiment were printed onto a piece of Buff Ivory Card Stock. After cutting out an oval with a die, Marsha used that to mask off the bell then stamped the script onto the panel using a large BG stamp. Keeping the oval in place, she traced the oval with a Tim Holz Distress Marker and then sponged distress ink around the outer edge of the oval. After removing the mask, she colored the bell with Copics. For more details, please visit her blog, Gramma's Room.
Use this week's theme to inspire you to create your project and then link it up at the bottom
of this post before 6:00pm (Central Time) on Sunday.
Please limit your entries two per challenge, others will be deleted.
