Hello, thanks for stopping by the Kraft Journal. Todays Challenge #238 - CAS Thank You is something we can all use. Thank you notes are becoming a thing of the past so let's see what the Design Team has as examples of this wonderful little card.
This week Tammy tried to keep the new challenge CAS-Thank You, as clean as she could, but it's not the easiest challenge for her. She started with a card base of Brown Kraft Cover weight cardstock onto which she added a navy star embossed layer. To the right, she stamped some baseballs using Versamark Ink onto a narrow Brown Kraft panel and added it to the right side of the card. She took a length of Red Baker's Twine and wrapped it around the right side of the card front and tied in a double bow where the papers meet. She die-cut the word grateful in red cardstock and added to the bottom of the navy star embossed panel. She then used an electronic cutting machine to die-cut her Washington Nationals Curly W which she placed on a die-cut layer. For this week's CAS - Thank You challenge, Stephanie chose to stamp her own background. She started with a piece of Buff Ivory Cover Weight Cardstock. The texture in this cardstock really adds a neat dimension to the finished design. She layered a hexagon mask over the cardstock and did some ink blending with a sponge dauber. After removing the mask, she stamped flowers, leaves and swirls in various colors of ink. She highlighted the flowers and leaves with a white gel pen. A stacked die cut "thanks" was added to the front and topped with Glossy Accents. This panel was matted with purple cardstock. Dove Gray Hand Stained Bias Tape was tied around the panel before mounting it to a cardbase made from more of the Buff Ivory Cover Weight Cardstock. For a sneak peek of how she carried the design to the inside, please visit Stephanie's blog: Steph's Scrap Happenings.
Marsha tried to keep her card clean and simple but just had to had some flowers on the top of her card, wrapping a bit of Natural Hemp Cord around them. She used one of the Vintage Black Journaling Cards for the main focus- this one having a bird and flowers printed on the lower corner. With pencils, Marsha added a bit of color. After layering the card with black card stock, she place it onto a piece of Buff Ivory Cardstock which she distressed with ink and a distressing tool.
