Color Challenge #239

Happy Monday and welcome to this weeks Challenge #239 - Color!

Watermelon - in Texas that is a summer staple.  You cannot get away from them even if you don't like to eat them,  they are everywhere!  I love watermelon and all the childhood memories it brings with it.
Use these colors of watermelon to design this weeks card.

Here are the wonderful end of summer cards the Design Team has for us, now show us your!

Marsha Drain
Red and Green and Watermelon.  Marsha went with a country look with the red and white checks patterned paper, some Natural Burlap Ribbon, a price sticker from the General Store Postage Stamp collection, an Index Label Sticker with "sweet" stamped on it, and of course her favorite Light Kraft Cardstock.  For more details, please visit her blog - Gramma's Room.

Tammy Hobbs
This week, Tammy was very literal with the color inspiration "Watermelon". She started by using Blackboard Stock Paper for the card base which she layered a red cardstock and a black and white polka dot patterned paper.   She took a length of Red Baker's Twine and wrapped it around the card front several times tying off in a bow. She stamped her "Happy Birthday" sentiment in a stitched oval label die and placed just above the Red Baker's Twine.  Next she die-cut some decorative layered label dies to be the backdrop for her watermelon. There you have it, for additional information and pictures, please visit Tammy's blog: Creating Somewhere Under the Sun.

Stephanie Wright.
For her final project as a Guest Designer for The Kraft Journal Challenges, Stephanie let the watermelon theme influence both her choice of colors for the card and the image she used. The card base for this Flip Card is a piece of Stephanie's favorite Lunch Bag Kraft Cover Weight Cardstock. The digi image was colored with Copic markers and die cut before being double matted on red and green cardstock.  Instead of using patterned paper, Stephanie stamped her red cardstock in a random pattern with red ink and then randomly  made lots of white dots all over this panel. The sentiment tag is tied with pieces of Red Baker's Twine and Dark Green Baker's Twine. Please visit Stephanie on her blog, Steph's Scrap Happenings, for more pictures and further details on this fancy fold card. Stephanie has really enjoyed her time here at The Kraft Journal and would like to thank Babette for the opportunity and the rest of the team for making her feel so welcome.

All of us at The Kraft Journal want to thank Stephanie for being our Summer Designer and showing us her beautiful cards. Thanks Stephanie!
