October is here and everything is pumpkin, even the local grocery store is having Pumpkin Palooza! So here at the Journal we are celebrating with Challenge #244 - Halloween or Harvest Festival. Let's see what the Design Team has for us and we want to invite you to join the challenge, come on it's easy!
For this week's Halloween/Harvest Challenge, Design Team Member Karen Letchworth made a "not-so-spooky" card with a piece of Half-Size Black Board Paper that she cut to the size of her Buff/Ivory Note Card. She decorated her card by placing a piece of narrow Buff Ivory Cover Weight Cardstock that she decorated using some little cut-out elements, 3-D stickers, and a glass bottle of "potion" that's tied with Brown Baker's Twine. She also tied the same Brown Baker's Twine into her big sweet Hand-Stained Bias Tape Bow. You can see more photos of this card on Karen's blog, My Cup Runneth Over. Karen is really looking forward to seeing what YOU will create to share with us.
Marsha focused on the harvest part of the Harvest Festival by using a pre-colored digital image for her focal point. The Buff Ivory Cardstock is the perfect background paper for an Autumn card with the creamy color and the linen texture. There are so many wonderful colors of hemp cord at the Kraft Outlet and these three are absolutely wonderful for this card. This collection is the Bright Hemp Cord pack. Tammy went with a Halloween card for the Halloween or Harvest Festival challenge this week. She started with a card base of Buff Ivory Cardstock onto which she added Halloween themed patterned papers rounding the top right corner. She die-cut some stars from Blackboard Stock Paper adding a vintage image from the Seasonal Salvage Stickers. This is also where the "Spooky" sentiment image came from as well. Where the papers met, she took a length of Orange Baker's twine and added along the card front. She created a fussy bow from Hand Stained Bias Tape which she spritzed with some Glimmer Mist to get the color she needed for this project. She embellished it with a prima black flower. Lastly, she added a length of ivory crochet trim to the bottom of the card for a finishing touch. For additional pictures and details, please visit Tammy's blog: Creating Somewhere Under The Sun.
Use this week's theme to inspire you to create your project and then link it up at the bottom
of this post before 6:00pm (Central Time) on Sunday.
Please limit your entries two per challenge, others will be deleted.
