Take Your Pick - Challenge # 245

Happy Columbus Day!

To mark this holiday (no matter how minor it is) we are playing Take Your Pick - Challenge #245.

To play along is easy, just pick three items and make a card using any of the three from this list.
Let's see what the designers have for us this week.

Marsha Drain
Marsha loves the Warm Brown Kraft Cardstock from the Kraft Outlet, using it for most of her Autumn cards.  She printed the sentiment onto a Scalloped Grungy Prim Tag (which she also loves!) and tied two colors of Baker's Twine to the top. Her third selection from the list is pumpkins. See how easy it is to play the game and make a cute card too! For more details, please visit Marsha's blog, Gramma's Room.

Tammy Hobbs
Tammy always enjoys the Take Your Pick challenges and usually incorporates more than the minimal three required to complete the mission for the week. This week she choose: Baker's Twine, Die-Cut, Pumpkin, Glitter, Buttons, Stamped, Black. She lacked the tag or she would have incorporated all the choices. She started with a card base made from Blackboard Stock Paper.  She layered a piece of Orange and Black patterned paper adding to that a layer cut from Vintage Dictionary Pages. In her stash, she had a Halloween Journal card which she placed over the Vintage Dictionary Page.  Using a scrap of Blackboard Stock Paper, she die-cut a star adding to the center. She stamped a Jack-O-Lantern image to the center of a circle die-cut made from Buff Ivory Cardstock which she framed with a scallop circle created from orange cardstock. She added some iridescent glitter to the Jack-O-Lantern image.  After she was done giving Mr. Jack a touch of glitz she added the prepped focal image to the center of the black die-cut star. She stamped Halloween on a banner created from Buff Ivory Cardstock and used an Orange Wooden Clothespin to hold it in place. Next she had some fun with Orange Baker's Twine by adding a tiny double bow to the top of the focal image as well as playfully adding it to the right side of the card front.  Lastly, she added three black buttons to the bottom portion of the card. Karen Letchworth
The Pick 3 Challenges are always some of Karen's favorites, and this week there were lots of great choices.  Karen actually incorporated seven of the items on the list into her card (twine, die-cut, pumpkin, buttons, stamp, black and a tag); but you're only required to include three, which isn't difficult to do.  Karen started her card with a piece of Half-Size Blackboard Stock Paper which is perfect when folded in half, and makes a perfect card.  To that she added a journalling card from the Jenni Bowlin Vintage Mini Deck Basics Set as her backdrop.  Then, she added a Blackboard Tag that she painted on the edges and decorated with some stamped pumpkins, a burlap square, and a stamped sentiment on a die-cut banner.  She tied some sweet Green Baker's Twine into her tag, and added some coordinating buttons for the finishing touch.  You can see additional photos and say hello on Karen's Blog, My Cup Runneth Over, and she looks forward to seeing YOUR creations.

Use this week's theme to inspire you to create your project and then link it up at the bottom
of this post before 6:00pm (Central Time) on Sunday.
Please limit your entries two per challenge, others will be deleted.

  2. Just got my card done in time, but now I'm thinking my twine isn't considered Baker's Twine, so probably doesn't qualify. You inspired me anyway & I have another card ready to mail for Thanksgiving, so thank you!
