Today Challenge #252 is all about Color, We have three colors that we would like for you to use in some way in your card this week. You DO NOT have to use all three colors to play along.
Let's see what the team has done with this challenge.
For this week's Color Challenge, DT Member Karen Letchworth wanted to somehow create a Christmas card. By simply adding a touch of red, she made it happen. She started her card with a Small Buff Ivory Note Card and attached some patterned papers that she inked with these week's colors (golds and greens) and machine stitched. She added a nice long length of Green Baker's Twine that she wrapped around the card twice to create a bow. Karen also stamped a sentiment on the inside of her card (you can see the photo on her blog, My Cup Runneth Over), and also added a Small Glassine Bag with Green Baker's Twine on the inside of her card for tucking in a gift card. We really hope that you will play along in this week's Color Challenge with us.
For this week's color challenge, Tammy created a birthday card for a young man turning 6. She started with a card base of Brown Kraft Cover Weight cardstock. She took some green graph designer paper and added it to the bottom of the card adding a trim of Orange Baker's Twine. In the upper left corner she die-cut a circle and trimmed the edges. She die-cut and layered a 6 using Brown Kraft Cover Weight cardstock and solid green designer paper. She formed a tiny double bow using more Orange Baker's Twine adding it to the bottom of the number. Using her electronic cutting machine, she cut out a lion, followed by paper piecing him, and embellished his party hat with some glitter before mounting with foam adhesive. She stamped "Happy Birthday" on orange cardstock that she cut into a banner adding to the lower left of the card. Last she added a few orange and green sequins for further embellishing. For additional pictures and details of her card, please visit Tammy's blog: Creating Somewhere Under The Sun.
This color challenge came just in time for a birthday card for a Son-in-law. Marsha started out with Light Kraft Cardstock which really helps in making a masculine card. After cutting out the balloons, she put a piece of Buff Ivory Text paper behind the green balloons to help with the reflection highlight. A strip of detail was added to bring out the colors of the balloons and to tie the card together. The orange cord is from the Bright Hemp Cord collection and the olive cord in from the Dark Jewel Hemp Cord package at Kraft Outlet. For more details, please visit the Gramma's Room.
