Kraft Outlet Guest Designer Laurel Seabrook

Guest Designer Laurel Seabrook

Laurel started out with Lunch Bag Kraft cardstock for her card base. She layered on patterned paper and a Small Glassine Bag, and created a sweet tag for the inside. Before adhering the bag she wrapped and tied it with Twill Tying Tape. On the tag, she added a Round Hole Reinforcement Brown Kraft Label.

Laurel says, "I think these are my favorite item right now, I love them! I have been under the weather lately so I have not been out much, but my thought was to put some little Ghirardelli Chocolate squares inside the bag... Kraft Outlet DT Reveal for "Color Me Red" Challenge

Debbie Carriere used a large red felt heart as her focal image for this week's Color Me Red challenge. The red felt heart is layered on a larger heart cut from Brown Kraft cover weight cardstock. She wrapped the heart with Tim Holtz Ruler Ribbon and Red Baker's Twine. The sentiment was stamped on Lunch Bag Kraft Cardstock. She die cut the flower from Vintage Dictionary Pages and added a center of Brown Kraft cardstock. Underneath the layers, she tucked a die cut border cut from Light Kraft cover weight cardstock. For a finishing touch, Debbie clipped three flags to the top of her card - one cut from Black Twill Tape, another from Natural Twill Tape, and a third in red felt. For today's 'Color me Red' challenge, Debbie started her card off on a base of Lunch Bag Kraft cardstock. Layered on top of that is a piece of pretty patterned paper in a red and white gingham pattern followed by a layer of blush cardstock. Next, Debbie added some blingy glittered alphas to spell out L-O-V-E which she layered on various paper doilies, tickets and papers. A pretty fabric bloom was adhered to the paper doilie and then a sentiment tag was created by using white craft ink stamped onto a piece of Lunch Bag Kraft cardstock and then inking the edges with vanilla paint to create a time-worn look. Lastly, Debbie added a die cut butterfly made from Lunch Bag Kraft cardstock, some Red Baker's Twine, a Tiny Wooden Clothespin and a couple of Garnet Stick Pins. Tracy created her card using a base of Brown Kraft Cover Weight cardstock. Her image was colored with Copic markers. A couple of the panels are matted with more of the brown Kraft. For embellishments she added a Scalloped Grungy Prim Tag and added a Jenni Bowlin Chipboard Flag piece with a coordinating Flag Banner sticker on top. Tracy created the flower from punched Vintage Dictionary pages. Tucked in behind the flower are two Jenni Bowlin Garnet stickpins.

Watch Us Wednesday with Tracy MacDonald: Gift Box Tutorial

Hi! It's Tracy and it's tutorial time so this go around I'm going to show you how to create a cute little gift box. I'll give you a link to where I got this idea at the end of the tute.

This first picture shows you the pattern you need to make the box. You'll need to cut two (2) of these. The dotted lines need to be scored and the solid lines need to be cut. I used Brown Kraft Cover Weight cardstock from Kraft Outlet.

Here's what each piece should like like after the scoring and cutting.

Flip your pattern up side down and place a mark at the 1 1/2" point on each of the 2" x 3" panels.

You'll want to score all four panels from that center point to the scored edge as seen in the photo below.

Before scoring these panels, use a decorative corner punch on the outer edges. I also used my Crop-a-dile to punch holes on either side of the scored point. Ribbon will be threaded through these later.

We're now ready to attach the two pattern pieces together. They need to be facing the same direction with the small attachment flap on the right. Butt the straight edge of one panel up against the scored edge of the flap and use strong adhesive to attach the two together.

This is what the two attached panels should look like once they've been connected and had designer paper and mats added. This is the inside of the card. Make sure you DO NOT glue down the last panel on the left completely. You will need to tuck the other connecting flap under the matting before it gets glued down. I've also added the mats and DP to the front side of the box at this point.

Time to start folding the box up. The bottom square on the left in the photo above will be the bottom of your box. The triangle next to it will be glued on top of that panel. The next square panel will be the bottom inside of your box. Place strong adhesive on it and fold it up out of the way. For the last triangle section place strong adhesive along ALL the edges so that the bottom square will be fully attached. Once you have all these glued together you can remove the adhesive covering from your last small flap on the side, adhere it and add some adhesive to the other half of the decorative mat. Taking your time to line the edges up will go a long way to making your box an even square.

You can add a decorative bottom to your box also. I cut a square measuring just under 3 3/4", used the corner punch on it also and trimmed in between the punches as shown on the bottom where the X-acto knife is.

Here's what the box looks like opened up with some 7 Gypsies Savannah seam binding seam binding threaded through the flaps.

And here's what it looks like closed up. I added a little Scalloped Grungy Prim Tag with the word love stamped on it and a Spellbinder Fleur De Lis medallion I cut in half.

Hope you liked the project. You can definitely resize this up to about a 4" x 4" box if you used 12" x 12" paper. I almost hate to give you the link for where I got this idea from because her project is just gorgeous and a lot more elaborate than mine. :-) I can always count on her for lots of inspiration--Marianne's Papirverden. She doesn't give any directions so this is strictly my trial and error instructions.

My name is Laurel Seabrook, I am married with 2 girls ages 15 and 13. I teach grade 1 full time and my hobbies are paper crafting (especially card making and scrapping), photography, blogging and painting. Although the job and family life keeps me busy I try to make time for myself daily by going for a run and of course playing in my craft room. I have been fortunate to have been published in a number of different magazines and particpate on several DTs. My passion right now is anything using paper. My girls are the inspiration for my scrapping and I am into card making as I love how quick, easy and satisfying they are... not to mention I am addicted to Challenges and participate in as many as I can. I have also dabbled a bit in altered projects and mini albums and am slowly becoming addicted to them too! Finally, I have fairly recently delved into digital items and use them for hybrid layouts, cards and altered products.

We're very excited to have Laurel with us as our Guest Designer during the remainder of the challenges in February and she told us that she's excited too! To create her card for this week's challenge, Laurel started with a base of the Lunch Bag Kraft Cardstock and then layered on some pattern paper. She also cut down a Glassine bag to form a small pocket, covered it with coordinating pattern paper and wrapped it with a bit of Twill Tying Tape before stitching it to the card base.

Next, she made a little tag out from more patterned paper, punched a hole in the top and placed a Round Hole Reinforcement Kraft Labels at the top of the tag, rounded the corners and added some letter stickers and twine. To learn more about Laurel and her other great projects visit her blog.

Kraft Outlet DT Reveal for "La-La-Luv You" Challenge

Debbie Carriere created this card with layers of Lunch Bag Kraft Cardstock, Buff Ivory Cardstock, and patterned paper on a black cardstock base. Her focal image is an Eiffel Tower die-cut accented with a sparkle flourish. The sentiment flag was glued to a Pewter Stick Pin and stuck in a double twill bow adhered to the base of the Eiffel Tower all on top of a small doily die cut from Buff Ivory Cardstock. For today's La-La Luv You card, Debbie began with a base of Buff Ivory Cardstock. Layered on top of that is a piece of Brown Kraft Cardstock which Deb inked with cream paint to create a time-worn look. On top of these two layers, Debbie adhered some pretty patterned papers and sewed around all the edges with a machine zig-zag stitch to create a patchwork effect. Next Debbie created a sweet little banner using die cuts from Buff Ivory Cardstock and patterned paper. Chipboard alphas were glittered and attached to the banner. Lastly, Debbie die cut a tiny envelope from Brown Kraft Cardstock, inked the entire front, stamped a couple vintage images with Kraft ink and added pearls, lace, a button and Green Baker's Twine.

Jennifer thought this little Valentine for her husband fit the "La-La-Luv You" theme of the week! She made the card of a base of brown kraft cardstock, and layered some tickets and some ribbon on the edges. Watch Us Wednesday with Debbie Marcinkiewicz: Victorian Tussey Mussey Tutorial

Today, Debbie Marcinkiewicz is going to show us all how to make a romantic, Victorian tussey mussey! You'll start off by making a cone with some Lunch Bag Kraft Cardstock. Here, Debbie die cut her cone shape using a die from Sizzix, but if you don't have access to one, you can just as easy form a cone by rolling your cardstock and gluing the side when the desired size is achieved; trim the top flat.

Next, ink your edges with some cream paint to create a time-worn look.

Adhere the sides of your cone, if using the die cut method, with double sided sticky tape.

Create decorate side pieces with die or you can use a scalloped circle punch. Adhere under flaps of die cut cone or to sides of rolled cone using double sided sticky tape.

Optional: glue a cone-shaped piece of styrofoam inside the cone to help it keeps its shape.

Adhere a piece of paper doilie around the opening of the top of the cone ... here Debbie used hot glue.

Next comes the fun part ... decorate as desired! Debbie used some pretty satin and paper blooms along with a stamped X-Small Grungy Prim Tag, two tiny wooden clothes pins, Red Baker's Twine, along with snipetts of shabby seam binding, glittered paper for leaves and pink tulle.

This makes an adorable little gift set paired with a matching card!

Two Garnet Stick Pins were added to the top of the card.

Kraft Outlet DT Reveal for "So Romantic" Challenge

Tracy created a fun Valentine themed card onto a base of Light Kraft Cover Weight cardstock. Her sentiment and banner are also made from Light Kraft. She tied her sentiment under the image with Red Baker's Twine through some eyelets. For the inside of the card, she created a tag pocket from a Small Glassine Bag. The bag was trimmed with decorative edge scissors and wrapped with more of the Red Baker's Twine. Tracy cut a tag from more of the Light Kraft and added another stamped image and some 7 Gypsies Gypsy Market seam binding.

Jennifer created this romantic card using a light kraft card base and some fun new papers! The large label was stamped on a piece of recycled chipboard and a smaller label was stamped and layered. For this week's "So Romantic" challenge, Debbie Carriere used a color palette of pink, kraft, and black for her card. She stitched two pieces of love themed patterned papers and a piece of Brown Kraft cover weight cardstock onto mats of black cardstock. She layered the stitched panels and wrapped with a piece of Black Twill Tape which she ruffled along a piece of red line tape. The many layers of the sentiment circle (including a Light Kraft doily shape) and three pennants were added on top. Thursday Trigger: Tie it Up Challenge

This week is our "Tie It Up" challenge at The Kraft Journal and we're looking forward to seeing what you create! The link to the current challenge is located in the upper right hand of The Kraft Journal sidebar and you can also find it by clicking here. You'll find some totally fabulous inspiration for the current challenge from our Design Team at that link as well!

This past weekend we celebrated my middle daughter's 22nd birthday and so I finally forced myself into creating some cards... I call these my "fish outta water" birthday cards because that's what I have felt like since I combined my office and craft room into one area of our home. Since the move, I've been unable to locate essentials like my glue gun, die cuts, plates for my Big Shot and in addition to that, the lighting in this new area for photography is horrendous to say the least. Never the less, I am also a cheapskate and refuse to pay $3.50 each for a birthday card when I have supplies to create them myself (even if I have yet to find them all since the move!) and my daughters balk at the idea of getting anything other than handmade card from mom too! :-)

With that said, I created two quick and easy birthday cards that feature a 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 base created from Kraft Outlet's Brown Kraft Cover Weight Cardstock and lined the inside of each card with a piece of 4 x 5 1/4 Light Kraft Cover Weight Cardstock which I stamped with a birthday sentiment (inside photograph of cards not shown due to lighting issues). I tied up one of the cards (shown right) with Twill Tying Tape and used Kraft Outlet's Small Manila Shipping Tags tied up with string to create a focal point for each "Happy Birthday" sentiment. JBS Stick Pins in Pewter adorn the card on the left. Also featured on these cards are October Afternoon's "Sidewalk" patterned paper and Chipboard Stickers. Watch Us Wednesday with Debbie Carriere: Accordion File From Envelopes Tutorial

Hello!!! It is Debbie Carriere here for my first Watch Us Wednesday Tutorial!! I am happy to share with you a fun project I made - an accordion file made from envelopes. I have lots of photos to walk you through, so grab a cup of tea :)

Gather your supplies.
4 A2 sized envelopes - I used Light Kraft envies from The Kraft Outlet.
Paper trimmer
Scoring board and bone folder
Strong adhesive (red line tape, scor-tape or something similar)
Foam tape
Ribbon
Cardstock, patterned paper, & stamps as desired for decorating covers and inserts

The first step is to seal all the envelopes and then cut 1/8" from each short side, so that the final length is 5-1/2" and the two short ends are open to create a sleeve.

Each envelope is then scored as follows. You will be scoring in 1/16" intervals, so depending on what scoring board or method you use your procedure might vary a bit from mine. I use the Martha Stewart scoring board and the measurements I have listed are the grooves I used to score & may differ from the "true" measurement. In case you are not using a scoring board, I have put the true measurements in parentheses below each picture.

(2-5/8" & 2-7/8")

(2-9/16" & 2-15/16")

(2-1/2" & 3")

(2-7/16" & 3-1/16")

You should end up with four envelopes with graduated score marks. Because the width of the section between the score lines varies, you need to trim your envelopes so that the width on either side of each score line is equivalent for all the envelopes. I found this measurement to be 2-7/16".

At this point you will secure your envelope booklet to the cover, centering and lining up the edges.

You could easily omit the above steps of adhering the pockets to one another and the cover to make a book with pockets. Pictures adhered to the "pages" with journaling tags inserted in the pockets would be wonderful!

I also applied a small piece of redline tape under my ribbon to secure it. I used the White Twill Tape available from The Kraft Outlet. I LOVE twill ribbon :)

Now you can have fun embellishing your front and back covers. Here is my finished product all tied up, in the spirit of this week's challenge!!

I used a Small Kraft shipping tag as my focal element, stamped a sentiment and embellished with some heart die cuts and Red Baker's Twine. I am using this as a Valentine's gift for my 6 year old son. I made up a bunch of fun tickets to tuck inside, but you could tuck money in, some small chocolate bars, or even pictures. Here is a look at the tickets I created on my computer and printed on Buff Ivory Cardstock. I stamped various images and small sentiments after they were printed. I then cut out them out at 2" x 3-1/2" and used a ticket corner punch as a finishing touch.

Tracy created a fun child's birthday card using a base of Brown Kraft cardstock. The fun image is complemented with buttons tied with Red, Blue, Baby Blue, and Green Baker's Twine. She also created a banner using Jenni Bowlin Chipboard Banner pieces and Hang Tag String.

For this week's "Tie it Up" challenge, Jennifer immediately thought of a gift tag and created this one from a large shipping tag with a decorative reinforcer. The tag features a background of vintage dictionary pages and film strip ribbon and is topped with an ephemera card, some alpha stickers, seam binding, and a vintage button. For Debbie's 'Tie it Up' project today, she started off by embossing a piece of Lunch Bag Kraft Cardstock and inked the edges. She then cut a piece of Buff Ivory Cardstock for the base of her card. Next she used a decorative edge die to create a fancy edge on a piece of Yellow Library Card, trimmed the bottom and adhered it to her embossed piece. Debbie wrapped a bit of Blue Baker's Twine around the embossed piece and then adhered this to the cardstock base. A sentiment was stamped on a Small Kraft Shipping Tag and then Deb tied a snipett of Red Baker's Twine around the top of the tag and adhered to the card base. A pretty nosegay was created using some blue and cream seam binding from the Victoria Seam Binding pack. The tag was inked,embellished and finished off with a Pewter Stick Pin. Watch Us Wednesday with Jennifer Cuthbertson: Inter-Office Envelope Inspired Card

Hello friends! Jennifer here today to share with you a card I made with a fastener inspired by an inter-office mail envelope I saw at work the other day!

I started with a standard 4.25 x 5.5 card base made from light kraft cardstock which was folded twice for a french door effect.

I start most cards by getting out a ton of supplies and then pare down until I find what I'm going to use.

I measured and cut two panels from a sheet of patterned paper and stamped them with a beautiful rose image from Waltzingmouse Stamps and stamped a hang tag with a sentiment for the inside of the card.

I glued some hang tag string to one of a pair of vintage rhinestone buttons.

I adhered a panel of patterned paper to the interior of the card and attached the tag, tying the string in a bow.

I tied some shabby ribbon around one of the "doors", used two stick pins as decorative accents, and glued the buttons down on the card.

To close the card, I simply wound the string around the two buttons!

Kraft Outlet DT Reveal for "Stamp it Pretty" Challenge

Tracy used a card base of Brown Kraft cardstock for her card and layered panels of Light Kraft cardstock matted with black onto the base. The panels were stamped with Versamark and embossed with white embossing powder. She then traced the outlines of her stamped images with a grey Copic marker. Tracy embellished her card with two 7 Gypsies Mini Receipts Mini Ephemera Labels, a Small Glassine bag and a sentiment stamped on more Light Kraft. The finishing touches on her card are a 7 Gypsies Gypsy Market seam binding bow with two Jenni Bowlin Garnet stickpins and a large button tied with Hang Tag string.

Debbie chose a birthday theme for the design of today's 'Stamp It Pretty' card! First she stamped the adorable cupcake image and sentiment onto a piece of Buff Ivory Cardstock, cut it out and then backed that image onto a piece of black cardstock. Deb glittered the cherry with some red tinsel glitter and adhered the image to the base of the card. Next Debbie wrapped a piece of Black Twill Tying Tape around the card base and then over wrapped the twill tape with some Red Baker's Twine. A couple of pretty Garnet Stick Pins were added to the sweet nosegay and the entire card base was adhered to a piece of Lunch Bag Kraft Cardstock. For this week's Stamp it Pretty challenge, Debbie Carriere chose to stamp on a few different elements of her card using a mixture of images and sentiments. She started with a Brown Kraft Cover Weight card base layered with two stitched patterned paper panels. She stamped on a couple Tim Holtz journaling tickets to create a fun vertical panel element. There is also a stamped border stitched over some Black Twill Tape. Her sentiment circle consists of a stamped sentiment accented with a handful of coordinating images stamped in various ink colors. Her embellishment cluster in the bottom right corner was created with a few different products - Chipboard Flag Pieces, Flag Banner Stickers, a felt die cut heart, and a button tied with Red Baker's Twine. Watch Us Wednesday with Tracy MacDonald: Laced Panels Tutorial

Tracy here and I have a Kraft Journal tutorial for you today that's easy peasy. I love the look of laced panels on cards and scrapbook pages and have used that technique several times in the past. Recently I read a post on one of the scrapper blogs I subscribed to called Gerrys Scrappy Life (the link will take you straight to her tutorial). In the past I used an eyelet setter and eyelets to create the holes for the lacing, but she showed how to do it with edge punches. They're a lot easier on the hands and more even than the hand done way.

All you need is an edge punch that will work for the lacing and some designer paper or cardstock. I've used some Brown Kraft and Buff Ivory cardstocks so you can see the details easily. I can't really give you any measurements because it will depend upon the size of your project and the width you decide you want between the panel edges.

For this card I cut a panel of the Brown kraft 5.5" x 11" and punched one short edge. I trimmed it off at about 1.25" so I'd have some play room. It was trimmed smaller later. Taking the larger leftover pieces of Brown kraft I repeated the punched edge. After that it's just a matter of figuring how much to trim off your pieces.

You will get different looks depending upon what type of edge punch you use. I was going to use the same one Gerry used in her tutorial but broke the punch. grrrrrrrrr

Anyway, here's what the finished card looks like with the panels laced with some Earthy hemp cord and a Scalloped Grungy Prim tag sentiment.

Hope you'll give it a try. It's really simple and gives a great decorative element to your project.

Two of Jennifer's favorite colors lately are deep aqua and gray. This card features a lunch bag kraft card base, hang tag, hemp cord, seam binding, and she even found a coordinating ticket in an ephemera pack! Head over to her blog for more details.

One of Debbie Carriere's go-to color combinations is shades of pink paired with shades of blue. This combo coupled with some Kraft cardstock makes a lovely color palette. For her card base, Debbie started with a base of Buff Ivory Cover Weight cardstock layered with Light Kraft Cover Weight Cardstock and patterned paper. She layered a few additional panels including Vintage Dictionary Pages, more patterned paper, and a die cut border. For her focal point, Debbie stamped a cameo image on Vintage Dictionary page and framed it with a die cut frame of Buff Ivory stamped with a layered frame image. Her embellishments include black Twill Tape, satin rosettes, felt accents, ribbon slides, and Jenni Bowlin Stick Pins in pewter. For a complete recipe and more photos, be sure to visit her blog.

Debbie used Buff Ivory Cardstock for the base of her card and to stamp the pink tea cup and green tag onto. A bit of glitter was added to the stamped flowers to make them pop! Debbie added some pink and green patterned papers to a piece of Lunch Bag Kraft Cardstock and adhered to the base of her card. A pretty, lacey border was die cut from more Lunch Bag Kraft Cardstock and adhered to the card front. The tea tag was attached to the tea cup using some Brown Baker's Twine. To finish off the design, Deb added a pretty scrunched bow made from Victoria Seam Binding and topped it off with a couple of Antique Stick Pins.

The pull-out tag was made by adhering a a Small Kraft Shipping Tag onto a larger manila tag and then Debbie stapled a tea bag to the tag set. A snipett of pink Victoria Seam Binding was added for the pull. The sentiment was stamped onto a x-small Grungy Prim Tag and then tied onto the tea bag tag with some Brown Baker's Twine. Deb created a thank you card and gift all in one {sweet} package!

Watch Us Wednesday with Debbie Marcinkiewicz: Paper Ruffle Tutorial

Today, Debbie Marcinkiewicz from Simple Treasures is going to show us all how to make a pretty paper ruffle out of patterned paper! These paper ruffles are wildly popular right now in blog land and very easy to create ... ready, set, here we go!

Create the base of your card with desired cardstock and patterned papers. Here, Debbie used some Buff Ivory Cardstock for the base of her card, inked with a bit of green paint to create a time worn look. Then two different patterned papers were added to the cardstock base for contrast.

Next, layer a strip of double sided tape along the seam of the two patterned papers.

Cut a strip of 1" patterned paper in a contrasting pattern and begin to stick the paper strip down onto the sticky tape creating folds as you go along.

When you get to the end of your card base, trim the edge of the paper strip to be even with the edge of your card.

Next, turn your card sideways so that the folded paper strip is vertical and begin to gently 'ruffle' the paper folds to create soft pleats.

When finished, you will have something that looks similar to this ... with soft paper ruffles!!

To complete her design, Debbie added a bit of lace trim and pearls along with some yummy Brown Kraft Baker's Twine at the center of the card. A pink fabric bloom was adhered to the left side of the card and then two Antique Stick Pins were inserted under the top of the bloom. The 'thank you' sentiment was stamped at the upper right side of the card and then ...

... a ' big hugs' sentiment was stamped on a x-small Grungy Prim Tag. To complete this pretty little design, Debbie added a bit of Victoria Seam Binding -- the create the shabby little bow, she first dampened the seam binding with water, scrumpled it a bit, let it dry and then tied into a bow!

The cardbase was added to a backing of Lunch Box Kraft Cardstock ... and there you have it, a pretty little card with lots of bits and bobs of treasures, all wrapped up with a darling paper ruffle and bow! The perfect way to show someone you care for just how thankful you are to have them in your life!

My name is Linda Abadie. I am a registered nurse, practicing as the Director of Clinical Education at GoldenLiving- Sleepy Hollow Manor Nursing and Rehab facility in Annandale, Virginia, USA. My husband and I have been married for eight years and we have two children, Nicholas (6) and Christopher (3). I started scrapbooking in 2007 when my husband's ARMY career took us to the far reaches of the globe. Most of my layouts are inspired by daily activity; either at home with my family or at work, Nursing. I enjoy this hobby as it allows me to express and capture special heartfelt moments in my life. Many of my friends consider my style as “eclectic”, full of bright colors, and happy. I am able to create a full layout combining mixed media and hybrid scrapbook technique.

Kraft Outlet DT Reveal for "Anything Goes" Challenge

Debbie used the "Anything Goes" challenge to create this "Twilight" inspired card. Starting with a base of Lunchbag Kraft cardstock she layered a piece of patterned paper and a piece of a Vintage Dictionary Page and stitched them in place. She layered and stitched a second patterned paper with a notebook edge Lunchbag Kraft cardstock border. Debbie wrapped some Natural twill tape around the card front, tied a bow and topped with a button threaded with Earthy Hemp Cord tied in a bow. Using two Small Kraft Shipping tags, she created her sentiment panel. She layered a small piece of Buff Ivory Cover Weight cardstock over the bottom tag to create a backdrop for the burlap heart embellishment. Check her blog for additional information.

Jennifer created this nostalgia-themed card in honor of the new year! This card features a base of light kraft cardstock that has been stamped with a sheet music stamp, a calendar sticker and stickers of photos you'd take in a photo booth. The card is finished with a 2012 chipboard banner hung with hemp cord and mini clothespins and some filmstrip ribbon. Head to her blog for more details.

Tracy created a fun nostalgic tag using a Buff French "Carte Postale" Postcard Shipping Tag as her base. She used the Tim Holtz rusted enamel technique using Old Paper and Vintage Photo Distress inks on the postcard and then added some Vintage Dictionary page pieces. Tracy created the marquee with a die cut piece of chipboard that she inked, embossed, and added rhinestones to. The marquee frames a 7 Gypsies Mini Receipts Ephemera Label and has a piece of Tim Holtz film strip ribbon stapled to it. The stars were cut from chipboard and Kraft Glassine. The glassine was inked with alcohol ink. The watch image is a 7 Gypsies rub on from Steampunk Time Rubbings. There's a bottle cap sticker from the Lost and Found Salvage Stickers and some black Twill Tape. Tracy's image, colored with Prismas, was printed on Lunch Bag Kraft cardstock multiple times, layered, inked, and covered with a coat of Rock Candy Crackle paint.

Linda Abadie: Try Something New Challenge

We'd like to sincerely thank Linda for being our guest here at The Kraft Journal this past month and for delighting and inspiring us with her beautiful creations! For her last project she shared with us that altering note books is one of Linda's favorite ways of expressing her creativity. For this week's challenge, "Try Something New", she experimented with tulle fabric as a base for adding modeling paste mixed with acrylic paint to create a dimensional background. She used ruler twill ribbon as a border and added lille tag as part of the title of her altered notebook. To complement the note book, she added grungy prim tag on the binding with a Family Tree Journaling Card.

Kraft Outlet DT Reveal for "Try Something New" Challenge

Tracy created a tag starting with a base of Buff Ivory cardstock. Her next layer is Light Kraft cardstock on which she attached some pieces of Vintage Dictionary page, inked, stamped, painted and Glimmer Misted. The flower was made using flowers die cut from a Tim Holtz Kraft Glassine pocket. Another piece of the Kraft Glassine was embossed, inked painted, misted, and layered behind the image. The sentiments were added with a Jenni Bowlin chipboard flag piece and a White Round Metal Edge tag and the tag was wrapped with some red 7 Gypsies Gypsy Market Seam binding.

Jennifer created this "something new" from something old - vintage dictionary pages! She made this matching paper bow tie and party hat ensemble to wear to ring in the new year adding seam binding and stick pin accents. Head over to her blog for more!

Beth Moore: Favorite Project of 2011

For today's Thursday Trigger post, I want to share with you my favorite Kraft Outlet project from 2011 and I hope this will inspire you to join our challenge this week. It's simple to join, just follow the Current Challenge link located in the upper righthand of our sidebar and link up your past favorite project from 2011 that also featured Kraft cardstock or products you purchased from Kraft Outlet.

My favorite past project was this decorated Lunch Bag Kraft CD Sleeve that created a fun and pretty way to store a CD filled with some of my favorite Summer 2011 photographs. Other products from Kraft Outlet that I used include: a Round Metal Edge White Tag from the Designer's Special Natural Tag Collection that I first spritzed with coffee colored mist and then stamped with the word "Remember", Blue and White Baker's Twine, Tim Holtz Film Strip Ribbon that matches my photograph storage theme for this project, and a die cut tag that I stamped with the word "Summer" and attached at the top of the sleeve. I cut the index tab from Lunch Bag Kraft Cardstock with the idea that I'll decorate more of these sleeves to store my photo CDs by season and once I put them all in a box, it will help me locate whatever CD I may wish to find later.

Watch Us Wednesday with Jennifer Cuthbertson: Hinged Card Tutorial

In keeping with this week's challenge to link up your favorite past project from 2011, today we're sharing a great tutorial that Jennifer created for you back in October, that shows you how to create a hinged card using decorative brads and paper tape!

Jennifer started with a piece of buff ivory cardstock trimmed to 4.25 x 5.5 and covered it with strips of paper tape. Trim the excess tape with scissors.

Cut a circle from the buff ivory cardstock and a coordinating scalloped circle from some patterned paper. Then, stamp some foliage images; one in green that will be the background image, and others in dark brown which Jennifer cut out and popped up using foam squares.

Jen then attached the two circles together and attached them to the taped base using a Christmas decorative brad.

Cut a smaller circle from the buff ivory and stamp it with the Christmas greeting which is revealed when the larger circle is rotated.

This is a fun and easy way to change up your "normal" folded cards that could even be sent as postcards simply by addressing the back!

Tracy MacDonald: Favorite Project of 2011

In February, Tracy offered the Kraft Journal readers a tutorial on how to create her Valentine Book of Love. The Kraft Journal posted her instructions for making a faux book card and she posted the resulting project on her blog. The book card was created using numerous Kraft outlet supplies including: Brown Kraft and Buff Ivory Cover Weight cardstocks, Tim Holtz Adage Ticket, 7 Gypsies Victoria seam binding, chipboard, Lunch Bag Kraft text paper, Scratch off stickers, and Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain Distress inks.

Audrey Pettit: Favorite Project of 2011

Audrey's favorite Kraft Outlet project from this past year is the burlap gift pouch she created with matching Small Kraft Shipping Tag. This gift pouch showcases a great use for our Lunch Bag Kraft Text Weight Paper, as Audrey used it here to both line the burlap pouch and to create a focal flower embellishment using several punches and a mix of patterned papers.

The matching tag uses Paper Edges Rubbings and a Reinforcer Sticker and is tied with a bow of Gypsy Market Seam Binding and Hang Tag String.

Kim Duran: Favorite Project of 2011

Kim's first project as a member of the Kraft Outlet Creative Team is one of her favorites that she created during 2011. This girly birthday card with a carnival theme includes a Journaling Ticket that was the perfect base to add a "birthday wishes" sentiment and a bouquet of balloons created from buttons! Kim embellished her Light Kraft Cover Weight card with pink ribbon, whitewashed wooden stars, and Jenni Bowlin stick pinks in Garnet and Antique.

Watch Us Wednesday with Beth Moore: Gift Card Holder with Belly Band Tutorial

Welcome to our weekly Kraft Outlet product tutorial here at The Kraft Journal. Before I get started with this tutorial, I'd like to apologize in advance for the less than perfect lighting in the following photographs. I just recently moved my craft space and have not yet worked out the lighting.

Despite the poor lighting issues, today I'm going to show you how to quickly create a "no frills" gift card holder (perfect for those last minute gifts)... this gift card holder can also easily be embellished to create a more elaborate card as well.

No-Frills Gift Card Holder with Belly Band

With that said, to create today's "no frills" gift card holder you'll need the following supplies:

Brown Kraft Cover Weight Cardstock cut to 4 1/4 x 11 inches
Brown Kraft Cover Weight Cardstock cut to 1 1/4 x 7 inches
Twill Tying Tape
Patterned Paper cut to 2 3/4 x 4 inches
Stamp Set(s) of choice (I used Papertrey Ink "2008 Holiday Tag Collection" and Hero Arts "Merry Christmas Tree" set)
Adhesive
Ink

You'll also need the following tools:

Stampin Up Large Window Punch
1" Circle Punch
1 3/4 Circle Punch (to cut out stamped tag)
Scoreboard/Scoring Tool

Start the project by inking all edges of cardstock and patterned paper, which is much easier than waiting until the card was completed like I did here!

Score the 4 1/4 x 11 inch cardstock at 3", 5 1/2" and 8".

Fold into an "M".

On the third panel from the left apply adhesive as shown above. (This will create the pocket for the gift card)

Fold the cardstock together to adhere the adhesive creating a "T". The center panel will be the pocket of for the gift card. The top of the "T" will be the front and back of the card.

Working on the center of the card, use the Word Window punch to cut along the top (leaving a small section on each end that is not cut) that will create the opening to the gift card pocket as shown below.

Using your 1 inch circle punch, cut a half circle from the center of the gift card holder pocket slot to create a tab.

The gift card pocket should look like this...

and the gift card slides into the pocket as shown below.

Embellish gift card as desired or continue to follow the instructions below to recreate this gift card holder with belly band shown in this tutorial.

Stamp a sentiment on the front of the gift card holder pocket.

Adhere patterned paper to card front and use the 1 1/4 x 7 inch strip of Kraft cardstock to create belly band.

Fold band of cardstock around outside of card.

Turn card over and use adhesive to adhere band around card.

Wrap Twill Tying Tape around belly band, tie into bow or knot and trim edges.

Stamp tag onto scrap piece of Kraft cardstock and punch out with 1 3/4 inch hole punch.

Adhere to belly band under knot of bow.

While there are a lot of photographs with this tutorial it actually is a project that comes together very quickly and again, there are many options for adding embellishments to really make your gift card holder unique.

For this week's challenge, Let It Snow!, Linda did the challenge by creating a card using the challenge as the title for her card on top of the Lille tag. The card was created on the kraft cardstock measuring 4.25" X 6". She added patterned paper rectangle that has been distressed with light blue color paint (diluted chalk powder). The snow flakes are adhered with foam tape to create 3D effect.

Jennifer created this card using a base of light kraft cardstock, added a snowflake embossed panel, a bingo card, and a salvage sticker. The card was finished with some felt snowflakes, rhinestones, and a seam binding bow.

Audrey Pettit

Audrey created a sweet snowman card for this week's Let it Snow challenge. She started with a base of patterned paper and added a layer of Buff Ivory Coverweight Cardstock followed by Lunch Bag Kraft Cardstock. Snowflakes stamped in blue metallic ink create an icy backdrop for a pair of snowmen that are stamped on Buff Ivory Cardstock and dressed with Lunch Bag Kraft scarves. Audrey added pleated twill and White Twill Tying Tape across the card and finished with a sentiment flair button centered on a Round Metal Edged Grungy Prim Tag.

Kim Duran

For our "Let It Snow" theme, Kim used a die cut with a seasonal sentiment placed in front of a sparkling white snowflake. Kim used Light Kraft Cardstock, Victoria Seam Binding, and tied a little bell with Earthy Hemp Cord.

Watch Us Wednesday with Lynn: Christmas Card Set Tutorial

Hello! It's Lynn, for this week's Watch It Wednesday Guest Designer tutorial. I'm going to show you an easy way to make 4 cards out of 4 sheets of 6 x 6 paper and my favorite card base, Kraft Cover Weight CS from The Kraft Outlet. Let's get started.

To use this technique, you will need 4 sheets of DOUBLE SIDED coordinating paper.

Cut each sheet to 4 x 6.

Next, trim each of these pieces to 5 x 5/14, saving the 3/4 inch strips.

Cut the rectangles at the 3 1/2 inch mark.

Flip the smaller rectangles to the pattern on the other side.

Now comes the fun part! Play around with the patterns mixing and matching until you get a combination you like. I always go for contrast here.

This was my favorite combination.

Now adhere to folded Kraft cardstock, leaving an even border of cardstock showing around edges.

Adhere those small strips over the seam where the two patterns meet.

Now you are ready to embellish!

I decided to use a variety of tags from the Kraft Outlet to go along with the challenge this week.

These tags were made with only one stamp set, My Mind's Eye "Lost and Found" Christmas set and two

colors of Ranger Distress Ink.

I stamped a small and large Kraft tag along with small and large scalloped white tags.

I threaded the tags with the following fibers natural twill typing tape, Savannah seam binding, and Kraft baker's twine.

Adhere to card and there you have 4 sweet and simple cards!

If you haven't made your Christmas cards yet, hopefully this tutorial will help you save some time and inspire you to create.

Linda had fun with this week's Christmas Tags and Gift Card Holders challenge by creating this bright and cheerful 'Be Merry' tag featuring Kraft Outlet products. The tag showcases products from the Deluxe Sample Pack, as well as the Ruler Twill Ribbon, Office Chipboard Button, Family Tree Journaling Card, and Lille Tag from 7gypsies. Linda highlights the multiple layers of embellishments, including red and green buttons, cute pearls, multiple ribbon, and distressing technique to create this adorable Christmas tag.

Kraft Outlet DT Reveal for "Christmas Tags or Gift Card Holders" Challenge

Tracy created a simple gift card holder based on a Splitcoast Stampers tutorial. The base of her card was created with Brown Kraft Cover Weight cardstock. She added some designer paper and tied a bow around the top panel with some White Twill Tape. For the inside of the card, she trimmed, stamped, punched, and attached two Mini Lunch Bag Kraft envelopes to hole the gift card and a tag.

Jennifer Cuthbertson

Jennifer created this oversized tag that would be perfect for an oversized box! The tag base is a postcard tag that was covered with three strips of paper tape and a couple of reinforcers and stamped with a wonderful sentiment. The felt tree was covered with brad "ornaments" and the card was finished with a seam binding bow and cross charm.

Kim Duran

Kim created a gift card holder based off the tutorial posted here at The Kraft Journal! For this gift card holder, Kim updated the Thanksgiving theme to reflect a snowy holiday gift. She used a Small Glassine Bag to house a gift card for her daughter, then embellished with Blue Baker's Twine, a Round Metal Edge Tag, and a die cut snowflake using Vintage Dictionary Paper. Kim even added snow to the button by filing the edges of white paper. This makes a great and inexpensive way to add that snowy effect!

Audrey Pettit

Audrey created a fun gift tag using some of her favorite wintery stamps and a Large Kraft Shipping Tag. She stamped and embossed snowflakes directly on the tag and added a sentiment tag that was stamped on Brown Kraft Coverweight Cardstock. Audrey stamped the snowman on Buff Ivory Coverweight Cardstock for contrast, trimmed it out, and added it to the tag along with a snowy hill made from white cardstock and a glittered candy cane. A bow of Victoria Seam Binding, Red Baker's Twine, and Hang Tag String finish things off.

Hi everyone, Audrey here with a fun holiday project for our weekly Watch Us Wednesday Tutorial. Today I'm going to share an idea for creating a Christmas card and matching gift, all in one.

One of my favorite gift ideas is giving hand-crafted holiday ornaments. They're fun, quick and easy to create, and add a very personal touch to gift-giving. Now put your homemade ornament together with a matching homemade card, and you've truly got a gift idea sure to delight everyone on your list this year. After all, who wouldn't like a gift that's also a card, and a card that is a gift.

Since the ornament will act as the focal point on the card design, just create a simple card for the base. I started with a card blank made from Lunch Bag Kraft Cardstock and added a couple of strips of patterned paper down the center. A scalloped edge border and a bit of machine stitching add detail to the simple design, and trim made from burlap adds visual texture and interest. I added a tab cut from the patterned paper on the side, but kept the center of the card clear for the ornament.

Recycled cardboard makes a great base for any number of ornament shapes. Have fun playing with different ideas here. I drew a basic holiday tree shape for mine, but you could also do stars, snowmen, gingerbread boys, candy canes, holiday lights, or anything else your heart could desire. Use die cuts that you may have, trace around cookie cutters, or download templates from the internet. The sky is the limit.

Once you've cut out your shape, peel off the top layer of cardboard to reveal the corrugation beneath. Paint and ink your ornament and embellish. I used a holiday tag, buttons, a chipboard snowflake, and a bow made from Brown Baker's Twine for mine. Set an eyelet at the top or the ornament and add a wire hanger.

Adhere a bow made from Savannah Seam Binding at the top left corner of your card. To attach the ornament, simply pin it to the bow with Antique Stick Pins. Remove the pins, and the ornament is ready to hang. Add a Christmas Printed Ticket, and your gift is ready for giving.

My name is Debbie Marcinkiewicz and I am a wife and mother of two, wonderful sons! I am lucky enough to ‘work full time’ designing paper crafted treasures for several on-line boutiques and blogs currently! I have been a crafter all my life and have dabbled in just about everything. I owned my own sewing business for approximately three years in which I handmade American Girl doll clothes and quilts. It was a very natural progression to travel from quilting to paper crafting … the same basic techniques can be applied transitioning fabric to paper! I have been paper crafting seriously for approximately six years and have been professionally designing for almost two years!! I love anything vintage and shabby and adore to work with fabric, glitter, vintage images, textural embellishments … and enjoy using my sewing machine on my paper crafted designs!! I really find so much joy in inspiring others through my tiny, made from the heart treasures! I find much of my vintage inspiration around my pink Victorian home, antiques I’ve collected for the past 25 years and in nature! I am tickled to have the opportunity to design with the fabulous items carried through the Kraft Outlet!

Debbie, from Simple Treasures, is here today to share her 4th and final Guest Designer Project for the month of November! We want to sincerely thank Debbie for inspiring us and our readers with her awesome creations this past four weeks! For this week's challenge Debbie told us that she loves to make cards with an unexpected surprise for the recipient! This Christmas card has a Ghirardelli Peppermint Chocolate slipped into the pocket - yum!

Debbie used a Mini Kraft Merchandise Bag to hold the candy. She clipped off the top with pinking shears so that the striped candy wrapper would peek out of the top of the envie! She decorated the front of the envie and wrapped it up pretty with some Red Baker's Twine! The sentiment is stamped on a x-small Grungy Prim Tag. Strips of scrapping stickers were adhered to a piece of Lunch Bag Kraft cardstock to create the base of the card ... and viola! A sweet treat ... yummy to give and receive!!

Debbie shares that she has loved joining the kraft-y teamies this month as their Guest Designer and she looks forward to joining the team permanently in January 2012!

Kraft Outlet DT Reveal for "Christmas Gifts" Challenge

Jennifer created this Christmas card using a panel of light craft cardstock that was embossed and brushed with white craft ink, a vintage-inspired sticker, and a seam binding bow with some lovely jingle bells attached with baker's twine. Tracy MacDonald

Tracy's card was created with a Brown Kraft cardstock base, matted with Buff Ivory. For embellishments she used some Jenni Bowlin banner chipboard pieces, Red Baker's Twine, a White Round Metal Edge tag for the sentiment and a Christmas Epoxy brad.

Kim Duran

For our challenge this week, Kim used Light Kraft Cardstock for the base of her Christmas card. And because kraft goes so well with the color red, Kim used red patterned papers and embellishments. She used Green Baker's Twine to decorate the button on her card and added Garnet Stick Pins to add sparkle.

Hello friends, Jennifer here to show you how to make a set of notecards with wonderful supplies from The Kraft Outlet! This week's challenge is to make "Christmas Gifts" and as a cardmaker, I love to give out sets of cards for others to use.

I started out with the lunch bag kraft notecard/envelope set chose some coordinating journaling cards, hemp cord, chipboard banners, ruler twill ribbon, and chipboard milk bottle caps.

I chose the Fly a Kite collection papers from October afternoon and cut them to fit the notecards.

I wanted the banners to coordinate so I traced them onto coordinating papers, cut, out and adhered to the chipboard pieces.

After the banners were covered, I glued them to the hemp twine.

Once I cut the papers down to size, I adhered them to the notecards and glued the ruler ribbon over the seam.

I stamped the journaling cards with some versatile sentiments.

I tied the chipboard milk caps with the hemp cord, layed out the elements, and fastened everything down.

I plan to give this set to my mother-in-law and think she'll love them and find good uses for all of them!

Kraft Outlet Guest Designer for November

Debbie Marcinkiewicz from Simple Treasures, our November Guest Designer, simply adores designing paper crafted 3-D gift items! Giving that someone special a handmade from the heart treasure will certainly show how much you care this season! For her Christmas Gift project, Debbie used the Medium Kraft Pillow Box to create a sweet treat filled with Holiday Peppermint Tea Bags! The festive nosegay was created with some aqua twill tape, a handmade chenille candy cane and some sweet jingle bells tied on with Brown Kraft Baker's Twine. For the matching little card, Debbie used more of the Brown Kraft Baker's Twine to tie the jingle bell around the stocking. Lunch Bag Kraft cardstock was used for the card base - inked with cream paint to create a time-worn look, and Buff Ivory cardstock was used to stamp the sweet little stocking!!

Kraft Outlet DT Reveal for "Christmas Gifts" Challenge

Kim transformed a simple kraft box into a festive holiday gift. Kim decoupaged Vintage Dictionary Pages adding a crinkled effect, then lightly coating the paper with white paint and Old Paper Distress Ink to make the box look vintage. She created a large bow using Buff Ivory Cardstock and pinking shears, then embellished with red lace, holly leaves, and pretty Garnet Stick Pins.

To complete her box, Kim used a White Round Metal Edge Tag and replaced the white string with Red Baker's Twine. The inside of the box is filled with chocolate truffle pieces. Perfect for those quick gifts with a homespun feeling.

Tracy MacDonald

Tracy created the box that forms the base of the bag with Brown Kraft cardstock and used another piece for the bag body. She wrapped the base of the bag with a punched strip of Buff Ivory and two different Merry Christmas paper tapes. The bag is held closed with a piece of White Twill Tape. The Scalloped Grungy Prim tag has a strip of the Christmas paper tape adhered to it as well as a Jenni Bowlin Christmas ticket and Vintage Christmas chipboard button, which is tied with Hang Tag string.

Audrey Pettit

Audrey created a sweet tag set for her Christmas Gifts project. She stamped holiday images and sentiments onto Small Kraft Shipping Tags and embellished the tags with a touch of colored pencil, white inked edges, glitter glue, and Red Baker's Twine ties. The tags are tucked into a Small Glassine Bag holder, and secured in a wrapper sleeve made from a folded Large Kraft Shipping Tag. The sleeve is tied in place with more baker's twine and dressed up with holly, bells, and a White Round Metal Edged Tag stamped with a Christmas greeting.

*Tip: the glassine bag was wider than the tag sleeve, but don't let that stop you from modifying one to fit. Simply pull apart the bag along the seams, re-fold to a smaller size, and adhere with your regular scrapbook adhesive. Nobody will ever know the difference.

Watch Us Wednesday with Tracy MacDonald: Gift Bag from Envelope Tutorial

It's tutorial time at The Kraft Journal and this week I'd like to share with you how to make a cute little gift bag out of an envelope. One of our players for challenge #42 had a link in her post for a video tutorial on how to make this cute little bag and I just had to try it.

All you need for the bag is one envelope. I've used a Standard A2 Lunch Bag Kraft envelope from Kraft Outlet.

Seal the envelope flap and using your scoring board, score your envelope at 1/2" on the two 5 3/4" inch sides and one of the 4 3/8" sides.

Burnish your score lines and use a decorative punch or scissors to trim off the unscored 4 3/8" side of the envelope.

Open your envelope and push the outside edge inward as shown in the picture. You'll have to work with the little triangle section at the bottom to get it evenly shaped.

Fold the triangle inward on the bottom of the bag and secure with adhesive. I cut a piece of Buff Ivory cardstock slightly smaller than the bottom of the bag to cover the folds and give the bottom of the bag a flat surface to sit on.

I decorated the front of the bag with a cute little Cuddly Buddly Snowman digi image colored with Distress inks. He's matted on Brown Kraft Cover Weight cardstock and more Buff Ivory and Bazzill. I ran some Hang Tag string through the deco punch holes at the top of the bag and added a bow made from 7 Gypsies Gypsy Market seam binding.

This little bag is the perfect size for a gift card or jewelry item. Hope you'll give this a try. If you'd like to watch the short video tutorial here's the link.

For this 'sweet treat' gift Debbie covered a Lunch Bag Kraft CD Sleeve Envelope with some pretty patterned papers and stamped a yummy sentiment directly onto the papers. She decorated the pretty nose gay using some delicious Red Baker's Twine, a mini clothes pin and a Garnet Stick Pin. The x-small Grungy Prim Tag was stamped with a sentiment and then adhered a snipett of vintage trim and some holly leaves that she die cut with Lunch Bag Kraft Cardstock. The addition of some more Red Baker's Twine wrapped around the Lunch Bag Kraft CD Sleeve Envelope and around the glassine bag which holds a yummy cookie complete this vintage-inspired design!

Kraft Outlet DT Reveal for "Sweet Treats and Baker's Twine" Challenge

Jennifer had fun with this week's "sweet treats and baker's twine" challenge by making this card with a sweet gingerbread man! The card features coordinating holiday papers, a shaped tag, seam binding, baker's twine, paper tape, and some festive stick pins all on a light kraft card base. For this week's Sweet Treats & Baker's Twine challenge, Audrey filled a Small Cello Bag with yummy peppermint cookies and dressed it up with pretty holiday tags and trims for a special gift idea. White Twill Tying Tape is wrapped down the center of the cello bag and tied at the top along with a vintage button and Red Baker's Twine. Audrey stamped snowflakes on a Large Manila Shipping Tag, added color and glittered details, and embellished with Merry Christmas Paper Tape, a chipboard snowflake and button, and more baker's twine. A Small Manila Shipping Tag got a fun stamped snowman, pretty trim, and one final vintage button.

Kim Duran

Giving out treat bags is one of Kim's favorite ways of sharing a little holiday joy. Kim used a Small Kraft Coffee Bag with Window and covered the front with pink snowflake designer paper. She then added a white paper doily, large white ribbon, and embellished with a snowflake die cut using Vintage Dictionary Paper, a jingle bell, and Red Baker's Twine available at The Kraft Outlet.

Watch Us Wednesday with Kim Duran: Fall Gift Card Holder Tutorial

Hi everyone! It's Kim here to share with you a quick and easy tutorial for creating a fall-themed gift card holder for our Watch Us Wednesday feature at The Kraft Journal!

Gift cards are the perfect way to "give thanks" and show your appreciation to someone. Using products from The Kraft Outlet makes it so easy!

Start by gathering your supplies: some Lunch Bag Kraft Cardstock, a paper doily, Brown Kraft Baker's Twine, Venice Gaffer Tape, leaves, some buttons, and a Small Glassine Bag.

Place your gift card inside the Glassine Bag and fold down just over the top of the gift card. Place a strip of Gaffer Tape starting at the seam of the fold, down to the bottom of the Glassine Bag. Trim your paper doily in half, then apply a thin coat of Glimmer Mist to turn the white paper doily into a pretty orange color. Blot with a towel to dry, then affix to the folded seam of the bag. Trim off the excess.

Oh! And by the way! I just love the size of these Glassine Bags - they are the perfect size for gift cards!

Wrap a layer of baker's twine around the Glassine Bag to hold it all in place. Use a scalloped border punch to cut out a piece of Lunch Bag Kraft Cardstock. Gather your favorite leaf and a pretty button.

Ink the edges of the scalloped circle. I used a hint of orange, mixed with brown distress ink. I love the fiery glow it has! Affix the scalloped circle to the top of the Glassine Bag, followed by the leaf, then button.

Next, stamp your sentiment onto the Lunch Bag Kraft Cardstock and trim around the edges of the letters. Adhere the sentiment to the leaf using dimensional foam tape for a little pop.

And that's it! A super quick way to "give thanks" and show your appreciation with a little gift!
