Challenge #173 - Clean & Simple

Hi all and Happy Memorial Day!
Sorry I am running a little late on this post but holiday is family time and we have a house full!

This weeks Challenge is Clean & Simple.  There are so many possibilities with this theme so let's take a look at what our design team has come up with.

Kristi Schurr
Kristi made a 'foxy' clean and simple card for this week's challenge. She made her card with a base from Brown Kraft Cover Weight Card Stock. She trimmed another panel of the same card stock and embossed with with a wood grain embossing folder. After adhering a die cut border to one side of the wood grain panel, she adhered it  to the card front. Kristi then stamped, die cut and colored the fox image, finally adhering it to the right bottom front of the card. She stamped her sentiment on a banner made from card stock and adhered it to the left of the fox. She then finished her card by adhering a bow made from Hemp Twine and a matching enamel dot. Tammy Hobbs
For this week's "Clean and Simple" challenge, Tammy doesn't usually gravitate towards making them, so she had to give some thought to what she was going to do. She started with a card base from Brown Kraft Cover Weight onto which she then took another panel of Brown Kraft Cover Weight cardstock slightly smaller than the card base and stamped and embossed it using Versamark ink and clear embossing powder. She took a die-cut to form a window in the middle. She placed a piece of Buff Ivory Cardstock to the base and stamped her focal image. To give the top panel dimension, she added foam adhesive to the back.  Lastly, she took a length of Orange Baker's Twine and wrapped it around the card front tying off in a bow. For additional pictures and a complete supply list, please visit Tammy at Creating Somewhere Under The Sun.
Anitra has created a clean and simple card using Blackboard Stock paper.   With the chalkboard look being so popular  now this speciality paper really shows off the sentiment.  Using the Blackboard Stock paper as her base Anitra created a chalk frame using a white gel pen.  She then hand wrote the word June into the frame.  Next she stamped her sentiment onto more of the Blackboard Stock paper using a pigment ink.  To keep the chalk look she did not emboss the sentiment.  Next she die cut the sentiment out and popped it up.  To finish her card she added some half back pearls to the corners.  For more information on how she created this card please stop by her blog Stamping While They Sleep.

Karen Letchworth

For this week's fun CAS (Clean and Simple) Challenge, Karen made a quick little encouragement card, and the Kraft Outlet made it easy to do!  She started with a Small Lunch Bag Kraft Notecard as her base, and to that she added some yellow card stock and a floral patterned paper.  Next, she ran a length of Tape Measure Washi Tape across the card and machine stitched the edges.  Karen added a soft sweet bow made of Oatmeal Cream and Aqua Mist Hand-Stained Bias Tape and some Yellow Baker's Twine.  The finishing touch was an encouraging sentiment that she stamped onto a Tim Holtz Journaling Ticket.  The Kraft Outlet makes it SO easy.  Karen has been very busy this past week, and knows that it took her FAR less time (and money) to create the card she needed herself than it would have taken for her to drive all the way to the store and purchase one.  By simply stocking up on some of the great supplies from The Kraft Outlet, she can always be prepared and have the items on hand to make a very special card to suit any occasion. Karen invites you to grab some new Kraft Outlet items and play along in this week's Clean and Simple Challenge.

Come on now join the challenge and show us your Clean & Simple designs!

As always, participants in our weekly challenges have a chance to be selected as our Featured Artist and showcased on one of our "Feature Me Fridays" posts. Each month Kraft Outlet will randomly give away a $15.00
