Make It Monday Challenge # 199 - Leftovers

With Thanksgiving quickly approaching we all start thinking about the huge meal we will consume and all the wonderful leftovers!  I know as a crafter you never throw anything useful out, so you must have a wonderful stash of left over paper and embellishments.  The Kraft Journal Challenge # 199 - Leftovers  is the time to pull those hidden treasures out and put them to good use!

Tammy Hobbs
For this week's "leftovers" challenge, Tammy looked around at the die-cuts and scraps laying on her desk. She found a few to get her started.  Tammy started with a Brown Kraft Cover Weight card base onto which she added a panel of patterned paper from her scrap pile to the top of her card. She had a die-cut border left over from a previous make that she attached to the red-floral patterned paper. Next she wrapped a remnant of Black Twill Tape tying in a bow which she embellished further with Red Baker's Twine and a cream button. Lastly she took scraps of Blackboard Stock Paper and Buff Ivory Cardstock to die-cut a paw to add to the center. On her desk just waiting to be used was a banner cut from Light Kraft Cover Weight Cardstock that she added to the upper right corner of the card. All that was left was to stamp her sentiment on the front.  For additional pictures and a complete supply list, please visit Tammy at Creating Somewhere Under The Sun.

Marsha Drain
Marsha admits she is a little excessive when it comes to leftovers.  She saves tiny pieces of cardstock, designer paper, twine, ribbon, you name it.  This card is full of leftovers from previous projects.
The dinosaur was made months ago and sitting in the "pieces to be used" box. (Seriously, she has one.)  He is made from various Kraft papers.  The grass was cut out awhile ago too but not used until now.  The evergreen tree is made with a scrap of forest green cardstock and a piece of Lunch Bag Cover Weight Cardstock.  The footprint is Light Kraft Cover Weight Cardstock and Brown Kraft Cover Weight Cardstock.  (Yes, made with little leftover pieces!)
Her card has a Brown Kraft Cover Weight base and the twine is her favorite Natural Hemp Cord.

Anitra Tovar
Anitra has created a bit of a patchwork card using her "Leftovers".  For her card she started off using a Buff/Ivory cardstock as her base.  Next she matted a piece of Brown Kraft cardstock she had left in her scraps.  To create the patchwork look, Anitra took pieces of patterned paper and distressed the edges before adhering them onto the Kraft mat.  Next Anitra tied a hand stained seam binding bow in Aqua.   For her sentiment Anitra stamped onto more of the Buff/Ivory cardstock using a black ink.  To finish her card Anitra added some ephemera from the Thrift Shop Ephemera pack.  The Ephemera pack comes loaded with great pieces that can be used in many projects and give the perfect vintage look to all your creations.  For more information on Anitra's card please visit her blog:  Stamping While They Sleep.
As always, participants in our weekly challenges have a chance to be selected as our Featured Artist and showcased on one of our "Feature Me Fridays" posts. Each month Kraft Outlet will randomly give away a $15.00 Store Voucher at!
