Challenge #229 Clean And Simple Patriotic

Can you believe that it is almost the 4th of July?
So to kick off this wonderful summer holiday we are starting with a CAS Patriotic Challenge #229.

Karen Letchworth

As we celebrate Patriotism with our "Let Freedom Ring" Challenge this week, Design Team Member Karen Letchworth wanted to create a card to celebrate the greatest country in the world....The United States of America.  She started with a Small Lunch Bag Kraft Note Card to which she added some red, white and blue cardstocks.  She die-cut the letters (USA) and attached some buttons with Red Baker's Twine.  Karen would LOVE to have you play along in this week's challenge, and invites you to visit her blog, My Cup Runneth Over

Marsha Drain

When Marsha thinks CAS, she thinks one layer, so excluding the Brown Kraft card base, her card is one layer with the illusion of more.    The liberty bell image and the sentiment were printed onto a piece of Buff Ivory Card Stock.  After cutting out an oval with a die, Marsha used that to mask off the bell then stamped the script onto the panel using a large BG stamp.  Keeping the oval in place, she traced the oval with a Tim Holz Distress Marker and then sponged distress ink around the outer edge of the oval.  After removing the mask, she colored the bell with Copics.  For more details, please visit her blog, Gramma's Room.

Tammy Hobbs
For this week's "CAS Patriotic" card, Tammy created a very quick CAS card to share with you all today. She started with a card base of Brown Kraft Coverweight cardstock which she added a layer of red cardstock to border the white card stock to capture the focal image of the United States flag embellishment. She then stamped her Let's Celebrate sentiment just below in Navy ink. She took a length of Red and Dark Blue Baker's Twine and wrapped it around the focal panel and tied in a bow. Lastly, she added a couple of sequins to the upper right corner of the panel. For additional pictures and information, please visit Tammy's blog: Creating Somewhere Under The Sun.

Use this week's theme to inspire you to create your project and then link it up at the bottom
of this post before 6:00pm (Central Time) on Sunday.
