Red, White & Blue Challenge #230

Because there are 5 weeks in June we have a bonus this week in a Color Challenge #230 - Red, White & Blue!

Take a look at what the Design Team has done with these colors and join the challenge.  The Kraft Journal family wants to wish you a happy and safe 4th of July.

Marsha Drain
Over the past 4 years, Marsha has enjoyed making patriotic Thank You cards for our Service men and women.  For this card she embossed a piece of Light Kraft cardstock then added two red and one blue stars that she cut out with a metal die.  You know how she loves the hemp cord! - she used two strand of the blue from the Dark Jewel Hemp Cord and one strand from the Natural Hemp Cord.   The red, white, and blue stripes in the Airmail Washi tape were perfect for making borders above and below the sentiment.  For more details about her card, please visit her blog, Gramma's Room

Karen Letchworth
Red, White and Blue are three colors that Karen Letchworth LOVES because they represent the country she loves so much.  Karen chose to create a fun card for this color challenge.  She started with a Light Brown Kraft Note Card as her base, and topped that with a coordinating piece of Light Kraft Cover Weight Card Stock and some patterned papers.  She cut a star into one of the papers and added some sequins.  She added a stamped sentiment to a piece of Light Kraft Cover Weight Card Stock and finished her card by tying several lengths of Black Baker's Twine around it, and into a bow.  Karen really hopes that you will play along in this week's Color Challenge, and that you'll also stop by her blog, My Cup Runneth Over, to say hello.  God bless the USA!

Tammy Hobbs
For this week's color challenge, Tammy started with a Brown Kraft Cardstock base onto which she added a piece of patterned paper where the edges were distressed.  She added an Event Record from the Ephemera Pack followed by taking a length of Earthy Hemp Cord and twisted it randomly on the card front.  Die-cut stars from Brown Kraft Cardstock as well as other papers were added sneaking in Red and Blue Baker's twine bow. Lastly, sequins were scattered to the front for a touch of glam. For additional pictures and information, please visit Tammy's Blog: Creating Somewhere Under The Sun
