Challenge #248 - Blessings

Welcome November and welcome one and all to the Kraft Journal Challenge #248 - Blessings.

Around this time of year we are reminded to count our blessings, but the truth is we should do this everyday.  It is hard sometimes to see the positive in everything, but today we are going to see what Blessings our designs team have used for inspiration on these wonderful cards.

Marsha Drain

Marsha loved the theme, "Blessings" for this week.  She used several stamps to depict some of her blessings, stamping them onto Buff Ivory Cardstock.  After stamping the tree and house, she colored parts with colored pencils to bring out the details and distressed the edges.  She really  loves the way the linen texture comes through from the linen cardstock.  She used a wood grain Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Lunch Bag Text paper and then layered that and come spring green paper onto a Buff Ivory card base. To bring out the green in the card and give it some pop she used two colors of twine on the top of the card from the collection of Dark Jewel Hemp Cord.  Then other embellishments like the three green brads and the dangling heart were added. For more details, she would love for you to visit her blog, Gramma's Room, where she reminds you to count your blessings.

Tammy Hobbs
Tammy based her project around a sentiment for the "Blessings" challenge.  She started with a card base of Buff Ivory Cardstock onto which she layered a brown piece of patterned paper where next she added layers of fall inspired patterned papers to complete her foundation. She took a length of Bias Tape and wrapped it around the card front and tied in a bow which was embellished with a fall leaf button. Using Buff Ivory Cardstock she made four different die-cuts, one for the sentiment, the postage square, the pumpkin, and leaf. She inked the edges distress inks. Before assembling, she took Brown Kraft Baker's Twine and added to the postage square tying off in a double bow. Her last bit of embellishing was adding a paper rose to the center of the pumpkin. Karen Letchworth
This week, our challenges is all about "Blessings".  Karen Letchworth always enjoys an opportunity to reflect on her blessings, and designing for the Kraft Outlet is on that list.  The Kraft Outlet is filled with SO many lovely products, and she hopes you will stop by to check them out this week.  Karen created a little tag for this Blessings Challenge using a Grungy Prim Shipping Tag that she embellished with half of a White Paper Doily, some Decorative Washi Tape, and a few lengths of Light Green Baker's Twine.  Her sentiment is a rub-on that she applied to a Scalloped Grungy Prim Tag using her Bone Folder Tool.  Karen hopes that as you count your blessings this week, you will remember to stop by and play along in our Blessings Challenge.  You're also invited to visit her blog, My Cup Runneth Over, to say hello.

Use this week's theme to inspire you to create your project and then link it up at the bottom
of this post before 6:00pm (Central Time) on Sunday.
Please limit your entries two per challenge, others will be deleted.
